Hi There,

I have a 2001 Lexus IS200 Sport Luxury - Manual 150,000

For a couple of weeks now i have had an issue when i Accelerate the car rev's higher than normal but the car doesn't speed up all that much.

If i really put my foot down it can rev to 5-6000 rev and don't get any power.

A few people in another topic have said it is the Clutch.

I have read a few post. Don't know to much about car setups though.

I am thinking of getting a Exedy Clucth. I also noticed people mention the Flywheel.

Do i need to replace both? My IS200 is a standard setup. No mods.

Any help most appreciated.

I'll just check around and see if the 1GFE uses the dual-mass flywheel like the 3SGE.

If you have a one-piece flywheel you can just buy a new clutch plate and pressure plate. Exedy will do that I think.

If you have a dual-mass you can do the same, but they are not interchangeable. That will be from Lexus only.

With either you can buy a lighter one-piece flywheel, new pressure plate & clutch plate and replace the worn unit. Jun flywheel I think it is, and Exedy for the rest or TRD.

OK, you should have a dual-mass, like the 3SGEs. See here-

The 1GFE is a dual mass unit if I remember correctly.

The Aussie counterparts with the 1GFE tend to go for the following:
Jun Solid Lightweight Flywheel

TRD Sports Facing Clutch Disc
http://fortyone.co.nz/parts/view/21409.html
TRD Pressure Plate

The flywheel has to be 1GFE specific, but apparently the 1GFE can use the same clutch disc and cover as the 3SGE

So just to confirm if i replace the Clutch with a Exedy Kit i will also have to replace the Flywheel with a Jun Flywheel

Yep!

unless someone has already done it!

OK. With regards to the Jun Flywheel does anyone know where i can source one. I'm in melbourne?

I was quoted $1100 for a Exedy Clutch Kit and Exedy Flywheel.

What could i expect to pay for a TRD clutch and Flywheel or Jun Flywheel?

JUN Flywheel will cost you around $900 depends on exchange rate, also when you changing the clutch, remember to buy the bearing and seal as well.
