Description: Organising now, anyone else keen??

Altezza Girl - June 11, 2009 10:45 AM (GMT)
Hey guys, I'm organising a very limited mini-meet "viewing" of Boothy's V8 Altezza before it's sold :D [Trade Me Auction 223416348]

I think its only fair to bombard him with a small-ish group, so let me know if you are keen to come along too.

Full details of where [Hamilton, most likely at his workshop] and when to come, but just want to guage interest at the moment

Trip of a lifetime!!!

A chance to see how easily the 1UZ fits into an Altezza and talk to the guy who put it in there! Remote reservoir shocks, knifeblade sway bars, twin fuel fillers... everything!

I went down in the days when he was building it and had a great time with him!

Ok, progress update....

Boothy is keen to welcome us down to Hamilton to visit "the beast"
He is busy for the next few weeks, so it will early next month when we get a date.

He also said he could be at Pukekohe at the end of this month or the beginning of July for a track day if anyone is keen to go and have a look!!

I wouldn't drink the coffee here mate, as a cost saving measure they have stopped supplying my Maccona and are now supply dried cow shit that has been finely ground.

Altezza Girl - August 18, 2009 06:04 AM (GMT)

I'll get things back on track with this meet, and let everyone know when I have the date/time etc

Ok, latest update....

Boothy's car is coming up to Auckland sometime next week to be re-tuned for ethanol (E85) fuel and because he's increasing the boost for this season.

He has suggested the best option would be towards the end of September in either Hamilton or on one of the test days [Sat 26th Sept, 3rd or 10th Oct] at the Pukekohe track

What works better for everyone??????

xnickx - August 20, 2009 06:04 AM (GMT)
Lets see him on the track!

NZandyTez - August 20, 2009 06:56 AM (GMT)
yeh awesome lets see him on the track

MightyTeza - August 20, 2009 07:32 AM (GMT)
Lets say in Oct as it gives those who went down to Welly a wee break to get rid of the bugs on their cars.

Ok, latest update with an email I received from Boothy yesterday.....

Good morning Diane,

I just thought I would let you know that my Altezza should feature on this weekend’s TV3 Motorsport program. The coverage is from Labour weekends Thunder in the Park meeting which was held at the Taupo track.

Due to work commitments and building a new house, I’ve put Nick Ross (NZV8 driver) into the Altezza for most of this season. We have increased the supercharger boost to 10 – 11lbs and this has made the car more competitive, but also made the car too fast for the NZGT class by 2.5sec per lap. We were forced up into the GT1 / GT2 Class which includes ex-Aussie Supercars, Transam cars, Mustangs, etc. We qualified 4th which surprised us totally. We are racing in the GT2 class but both GT1 & GT2 classes run together in the same race.

Results for the weekend were:
Race 1. DNF (This was due to a electrical wire dropping onto the headers causing the circuit breakers to pop out when Nick was challenging for 2nd place.
Race 2. 1st place
Race 3. 3rd place.

Over all it was a good weekend for us. We are up against cars with allot more HP but the Altezza seems to be better off the line, through the tight areas and under brakes. It’s just the long straights that we miss out.

Anyway, we had two TV cameras in the Altezza for races 2 & 3 but I’m not sure how good the coverage will be? I guess it depends on how it’s been edited.

Cheers – Boothy

He is going to be racing at Pukekohe at the Thunder in the Park race meeting on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th December. He said we are more than welcome to turn up and watch! Anyone keen? :D

:o Wow that must go! ISF much? I'd like a V8 in mine except it'd probably hit the pocket harder than I can take.
