Title: Tyre Pressure
Description: What do you run...

Leiden - July 1, 2009 11:29 AM (GMT)
Just wondering what tyre pressure's you guys run with your different tyre sizes...

I'm currently running 38psi on 215/35/19's...

Also do you measure when the tyre is cold or warm?

Stephen - July 1, 2009 11:33 AM (GMT)
225/35/19 @ 38psi

is__b - July 1, 2009 12:00 PM (GMT)
RT215
215/45/17 34psi(COLD)

Leiden - July 1, 2009 02:29 PM (GMT)
Would it be better to run mine at 32psi to get a little more comfort and handling or would that just lower my economy and nothing else

On Live For Speed I went from a 13.62 to a 13.53 QM just by dropping the tyre pressure 6psi from 38

xnickx - July 1, 2009 08:41 PM (GMT)
Street - Firenza ST08 - 225/40/18 40psi Cold
(don't laugh but they are really decent tyres :P )

Track - Toyo R888 - 235/45/17 20psi Cold

E910 - July 1, 2009 09:39 PM (GMT)
215/45 R17 @ 34psi (coldish, short drive from my house to the gas station)

*EDIT*
Just found out WIM recommend running 35psi in OE 17"

DR-JEKL - July 1, 2009 09:44 PM (GMT)
225/35 19" @40psi for street.

If you run in the 32-34 region and run a stretched setup, you can risk the tyre popping off the rim.

On a 19" tyre I wouldn't run any lower than 34psi

TNT200 - July 2, 2009 01:00 AM (GMT)
Front 215/40/18; Rear 22/40/18 all round 34psi (cold weather)
what do you guys think this set up psi is ok or need more air pressure?

I've got 215's slightly stretched onto a 8" rim, you reckon 34 would be ok?

DR-JEKL - July 2, 2009 01:44 AM (GMT)
I would be running 38psi min.

An extra few psi comes in handy as by the time you get around to filling them back up again most tyres drop 2-4psi per month or so, so if you were to run 34, and in a month's time you could potentially be running 30 psi..

IS400 - July 2, 2009 01:50 AM (GMT)
depends on how you drive kinda me thinks...

But me I put minimum 42 PSI and still can manage to wear the outers out... lol

maybe slow down around corner I should? .... nah.. no chance

Kurt just dial in about -5 degrees of camber and it will sort that ;) haha

pras - July 2, 2009 03:05 AM (GMT)
235/40/17 = 36psi
245/40/17 = 38psi

burgla - July 2, 2009 07:33 AM (GMT)

JohnnyGT - July 2, 2009 09:27 AM (GMT)
225/35/18 Good year F1's at 38Psi as per specs from goodyear

P1GLTZ - July 2, 2009 10:17 AM (GMT)
215/45/17 - GT Radials (Dont laugh, its all I could afford! Better than the crap Kingstars it had on it before them! :P) I run 32psi in the front and 30psi in the back.

Should I run even pressure on all four????

Yep. The factory spec for OE 17" is 2.3kg/cm2 or 32.713 PSI all round.

38's winning, I think I'll leave them at that :)

HOT2XS - July 3, 2009 05:12 AM (GMT)

skido - July 25, 2009 02:05 AM (GMT)
For 2004 3L Gita Toyota sez rear = 240 (34.8), front = 230 (33.4), spare = 420.
Running on Yokohama ADVAN's as imported; 215/45ZR17s in front and 225/45ZR17's at rear. Tyre supplier reckons 36-40 for me so I run at 38.

DrUsTR - August 18, 2009 06:08 AM (GMT)
What would I run on Stocks ?
Atm im on 34psi

tikboy2007 - August 18, 2009 07:12 AM (GMT)
hmn i think I'll switch to 34 on stock 215x40x17(?) tyres :D

i remember i used to run 40 on 205x40x17 on my ooooooooold 96 civic it helped making the tyre last longer...the reason i had a civic was this was my first ever car so i've had 3 civics this was before honda lost the plot after 2000 model now they look really ugly but i digress :D
