I'm an old guy from Kaiapoi (just Nth of Chch), just got a Gita 3L which is kinda weird cos I vowed and declared I'd never drive a Toyota ('cept maybe a Supra or MR2). Now I drive a white Toyota station wagon!!!! oh the shame :( that's what getting old does to you.
Seriously though i needed a wagon for business, Legnum VR4? Stagea? Mazda 6? Euro? after much homework and thoughts about value (see how old I am!) I decided on the Gita. I chose a 3 litre cos I do a lot of open road Ks, and I'm glad I did! what a great car! I am seriously (and quietly) impressed.

I've had dozens of previous vehicles/company cars, notably:
My 2nd car-Galant GTO (Still got it...and 2 other ones, including a GSR!)
Avenir SiR
Legacy TStypeR
Commodore VT
L300 Delica
Outlander

Current other vehicles:
L400 Delica (for sale)
Honda Hornet
Triumph Speed Triple or Sprint ST (soon)

Only mods so far are fitting my Beltronics STi Driver and TomTom 720 oh and nice comfy sheepies.
Future mods, rims and tyres, lower suspension, exhaust and filter, lights and grille, ICE.

Hi Nick: Just a 2wd, running costs are a consideration, but mainly there weren't any around when I needed one. Three litre versions are quite rare as it is.

so I'm not alone in my two wheeled addiction
I am definitly a fan of big v-twins though (but definitely not Harleys). I've got an SV650 and the sound of the aftermarket can is intoxicating. I've also got a KTM520 motard which i have to admit turns me into a complete idiot its so much fun... :woot:
