Title: Why's The Back Of My Car So Much Dirty?

Robo - August 5, 2009 02:13 AM (GMT)
The car is white, the back of my car gets way dirtier than the front of the car, any ideas why?

After a week of washing it it'll get cover by black dust, while the front and sides are still pretty clean.

Could it be brake dust? Exhaust smoke? Something else?

Edit: sort of like this:

I'd say exhaust... it happens, wouldn't be too worried about it unless you could see excessive smoke etc coming from the exhaust.

Mine gets filthy in no time (White also.)

um... rainy weather / and dust + Turbulence

you would find if you drove around backwards all the time the bonnet would be a lot dirtier than the rear / boot
And you might have a few tickets from your favourite revenue collectors
welcome to the joys of owning a white car :)

It's normal. Looks more noticeable/worse because it's wet these days.

My last car was white. Was a pain to keep clean. Owned a couple of black ones to & they're even worse. Silver FTW! Hides dirt well.
Could try a vortex generator see if that keeps it any cleaner, it supposedly does on the rear screen <_<

low pressure behind the car causes dirt to be sucked in to that area
