Title: Gauges
Description: Where to put them
DrUsTR - August 6, 2009 07:10 AM (GMT)
Hi, Im looking to get some gauges for my ride, but not sure where to place them. i dont really want to drill them down.
I have thought of putting them where the dash tray is, but is there anywhere where i could get the pods for the gauges to sit in that would fit the dash tray ?
Any ideas ?
Andrew

GReddy "did" do a twin 60mm gauge pod for the A pillar, although they have all been discontinued, and I sold my last one today :(
I vote for pillar mounted gauges!

But we IS200/IS300 have airbags there...

Google "TRD Gauge Sports Meter Kit" and see if you can find one of those or similar. They sit in the tray in the top center of the dash. Mine are angled towards the driver so arn't the trd item.

A friend of mine has some gauges stuck to the top of the windscreen,
but you would need to find some thin/flat ones to fit them there.

I have one of them that I have never put into my car as I only have one gauge.... but anyone is free to buy it off me.
It's the same colour as the pillar and looks mint but just I have no need for another gauge.

I had a pillar pods before on my Skyline, and got defected for them, because the 2nd gauge was higher than the steering wheel.....and the boys in blue was ranting on about how it was in a high impact area etc....

Is there anywhere in Sydney, well i guess Aust. that i could get one of these ?
Or would i have to order it from Japan ?
I wanted a Air/Fuel Ratio and not really sure what the other 2 would be....
Was looking @ getting digital shift system and Digital fuel level... but not sure....

Problem is the TRD ones might be discontiuned so they might not be availiable.
The three gauges in my car are:- Oil pressure, Oil temp and water temp.
Another option could be a HUD (heads up display). A guy at work had an Evo 4 years ago that projected stuff onto the windscreen. Not sure who made it, but it had just about every reading under the sun (oilpress/temp/boost/......)
