Greeneyes would occasionally lose the air from the rear driver's side tyre, taking a few days to do it. Maybe once every month for the last few months.
Two weeks back I took the tyre off, took the equally flat one off the Datsun & pumped them both up. I sprayed them both with deteregent at home and found a slow leak around a wheel weight on the Datsun, The tang must be too long, as it stopped when I pulled the weight off.
The Altezza was fine until the start of this week. This time I drove slowly down to the local tyre shop where they took the tyre off and checked it.
There was a small 15mmx5mm self-adhesive aluminium type sticker stuck onto the bead of the tyre. The air would slowly leak out past the sticker when that part of the tyre was on the ground. It would have no effect whenever the tyre was resting anywhere else around the rim.
I didn't have a camera in my hand when we found it, but I assume it was some little manufacturing or sales sticker covered with numbers.
So... always take them off new tyres!
