Title: Rough Idle, No Power.

streamz - September 10, 2009 08:36 AM (GMT)
Just went to go out in my car and straight away noticed loss of power and rough idling.

Drove it home from work a few hours before and it was fine. Seems to be really rough until 2500 rpm and then it smooths out. Makes it really hard to take off as the timing seems to be way off. There is also a strong smell of petrol.

I tried cleaning the maf sensor which didnt seem to help.

Any ideas what it is. I will probably try take it into NST tomorrow morning.

Sparks/Leads?

No leads in an Altezza ;-)

But yeah, have a look at your plugs, when were they last replaced?

The strong smell of petrol has me really worried, any obvious leaks?

The strong smell of petrol could just be from it running like crap and not burning it all?

streamz - September 10, 2009 08:51 PM (GMT)
I took it in to Toyota this morning. I suspect (hope) it is a coil.

xnickx - September 10, 2009 09:05 PM (GMT)
Coils are in stock @ a special price atm :D

Tell the service advisor to see me for parts and I will work something out for you as usual Jono!

Yep, they called me up. All sorted. Thanks for the help Nick. :)

Was interesting trying to drive it down there this morning as long as the revs were above 3000 it was ok :skid:
