Title: Hks Hyper D Vs Tein Coilover Or Else
TNT200 - September 11, 2009 02:40 AM (GMT)
Hi all,
Currently my lex run on Ebatch spring with stock shock and it started some sound knocking on the rough street or when the car slow down with brake on it so i'm thinking to get a second coilover but don't know which one is good.
I'm looking for something comfy, not too much stiff or bounce.
So just wondering what people have experience of and I'm trying to see which'd suit me best.
Thanks in advanced for your help.

HKS Hyper D's are for drifting which may sound cool, but they will bounce like a mofo...

Tein HA's are discontinued.
Its CS superstreets flex or monoflex now (you can get rare RS Race spec also)

x 2, running the Hyper Ds too, set to the softest setting and it's quite still.
Spring rates are something silly like 16KG Front and 15KG Rear.
Quite hard considering stock is 5KG Front and Rear

If you want a good mix of ride and handling and you like Tein then go for the CS. I'm not sure of the spring rates but I believe they are slightly softer than the HA. I run HA in my Altezza and love them, softest setting is quite comfortable but on the hardest seting they are a bit ridiculous for street driving. When I got the Altezza it had CS and they were noticeably softer. The only reason I went with the HA's is I had them in My IS200 and they were only about 6 months old whereas I didn't know how old the CS's were. I think you will be happy with the CS.

I have no idea of Buddy Club N+ Spec coilovers, is it expensive?
I'm not fussy, i just want it to look good and nice for my car....so anything that long lasting and gentle on the bounce, no noise...
Can anyone give some advices on the item at the link below as the seller has no idea how many KM done on the coilover...and it's a Tein sports spec Type HA driving master dky10- 11531 . sxe10-f . 20019. Asking for $525NZ + $150NZshipping. Should it worth to buy for this price? or wait until a low KM coilover post up for sale?

I have only ever driven one other altezza so it would feel a world of difference going from 16kg back to 5kg. To be honest im used to it now and just call it a drivers car.

Folks,
I installed new set of Tein Super Street with spring rate. F=8kg/mm R=6kg/mm. The damping I set to 4 out of 16. Loving every minute of it.
The handling improve tremendously yet maintaining a certain degree of comfort.
Perfect for daily drive and some fast run on twisty roads. For track need to dial
the damper more closer to 16. For harcore track runs then Tein Type Flex or Mono Flex will be more at home with stiffer spring rate. ;)

Were you the one asking all the questions about the ones on trademe recently? I've got a set of Tein HA and they are pretty firm. not sure what the spring rates are but they would be great on the track (but fine for the twisty roads too). I'll probably change to some Super streets in the future for some more adjustability.
