Title: Fuel Filter + Cat Converter + Plugs

Hi,

How often should you change the fuel filter on an Altezza Rs200z
I bought mine at 62,000km and it is now 121,000km
Can you change it yourself or if not how much for Toyota to change

Also do the Cat converters get blocked or impair performance at these km's
And finally I put denso iridiums in at 65,000km. When shoul i change these ?

Cheers

Pete

There's a thread on service schedules pinned under general discussion thats worth a read http://z4.invisionfree.com/lexusaltezzaclu...?showtopic=2022

Yes cat converters can become blocked & impair performance. Up to you whether you just cut it out or replace it. Cutting it out will definitely be the cheaper option of the two.
Most iridium plugs are only good for 60K. There are some that last 90-100K but the performance ones are generally 60K as they have finer electrodes.

Cutting out the CAT converters - there's a risk to emissions testing thpugh right?

Is emissions testing part of a WOF yet?

The Vehicle Exhaust Emissions Amendment 2009S became active in May 09, can anyone in the know shed some light on this? Been thinking of removing the CAT converter on mine too.

No, Emission testing is not part of your WOF. They can only ping you if you've got a smoky exhaust at the moment.

See if you can make any sense of this http://www.ltsa.govt.nz/rules/vehicle-exha...dment-2009.html

Cool had a read thanks E910.

Is there anything in the pipelines/ drafted bills etc that looks to be putting emissions testing in place for WOFs - alas I can't remember where I heard it or from whom but it would stop me removing my CAT converter as they're expensive to buy new.

Is your cat converter actually broken at the moment? If not then just leave it.
