Hey all.

It's time for us to have a little bit of fun so I am looking for interest in a treasure hunt event in the Tauranga /Mount/Papamoa area.
We need a minimum of 5 cars preferably teams of two, probably 3 hours or so.
BBQ option to follow.
I will base the task on a combination of map reading and general knowledge,not local area to provide clues.
Bring your wife/partner/friend(s)/supporter as you team member

As always this event is open to all members and lurkers alike.

I am looking at a costing of ~$10 to pay for each team member to cover the costs of maps and prizes.

You will need
- Car
- Team member/members more than one team member is allowed although there is no advantage to have more than one
- Maps (to be provided)
- Local Phone Book (also to be provided)
- Digital camera, or cellphone with camera

GPS / Satnav - Is not necessary in fact it may hinder your chances

..and having travelled a 1000km from Qld back to Orange with a satnav, I can tell you they are NOT the answer!

You know where you are going, but have absolutely no idea where you are. Especially when the road it sends you down is closed at the other end!

The clues have been written and will be doing a test run this weekend to make sure all ir right and make a few fine tunings as required.

With BBQ attendees in the region of 18 people what are your thoughts on using the bulk of the entry fee for food and drinks (no alcohol)? .
If the general consensus is to spend the money on food is there anything specific you want /dont want ?

Or would you prefer to bring your own and have the entry money spent on prizes of some sort ?

I have a trophy in mind for first place and a couple of other ideas :)

And for those lurking on the sidelines this could be your last chance this year to get together for a meetup with other club members

Let's just bring food and thro it in the chilly bin easiest way

Small bump and check that teams are sorted for those still outstanding.

Just four weekends away. I will have to ask for some money soon and will PM individuals the information. I will put up some susages/ bread/ soft drinks and and BBQ gear as required for all the rest it will be BYO. There is an option post BBQ for a few beers/drinks for those who would like to.
