Hi all... Purely out of curiosity, whats your step by step on cleaning your car?

1. Fill bucket with carwash and hot water.
2. Rinse entire car with clean water.
3. Apply carwash with sponge or cleaning mitt working from the top to bottom and cleaning in sections rinsing between.
4. wash wheels and rinse.
5. Chammy down painted surfaces and follow with a good wax every few washes.
6. Wait till tyres are dry and apply silicone or similar to tyres.

you get the point, how do you do it?

same or very similar.

armour-all and vacuum the interior first
1, always in a shaded area (ends up being early morning :) usually sunday)
2, car surface as cool as possible
3, armourall the black plastic under the wipers.
4, as above
5, soft cloth dry the wheels, apply tyre shine(50%wheel), move car and apply to second portion of the wheel.

remembering to dry the mirrors, inside the door jambs, petrol flap, bonnet etc

an easy 2 hours and a shiny shiny happy car :D

Mine is not as hectic:

- Jump in the car
- Drive to closest Hand Car Wash place
- Pay for Hand Car Wash
- Enjoy a coffee while you watch you car get washed inside out
- Drive out with a nice smelling car and a smile

Wish I could spend the time to wash the car but I'm in an apartment with no Car Wash Bay :(

when i was studying i used to work in a car wash on weekends, so i know the tricks of the trade

how i wash my car:

1. half a bucket of water, no soap, use sponge to wash car
2. dry using face towel
3. rinse face towel, using face towel apply wax, by far the best wax to use is malco
4. using glass cleaner clean windows
5. use sponge to clean alloys(have another sponge just for alloys), then spray silicon
6. vacuum interior, using silicon do a bit of detailing
7. take wax off using new clean face towel

takes me about an hour max to do this, professional results everytime

i apply wax about once a month now though, still get showroom shine. water pretty much slides off my car :)

after a few threads and research on other forums, I've since use the below method of cleaning my car.

Two Bucket Washing system
1 bucket with water and Meguiar's Soft Wash Gel (soap bucket)

1 bucket with water to clean the washing Mitt (water bucket)
Meguiar's Lambswool Mitt to wash the car

Sponge to wash the wheels

Wash the car starting from the roof, glasses, bonnet, front bumper, sides, then lastly rear. Cleaning the Mitt often using the water bucket.

Once all the panels are hosed, use the Sponge to clean the wheels and frequently use the water bucket to clean the sponge.

Hose down the car and dry the car using a Weaved Microfibre (similar to this)

Hit the car with quick detailer every wash.
