there what 17x8.5 +40 or +35? with 255 rear tyres?
SSML - October 5, 2009 01:44 PM (GMT)
from my understanding. IS250 LUX model comes with 225/45/17 @ front, and 245/40/17 for rear, and I think front and rear rim might have different width/offset. so you have have to find out from the owner's manual.
the wheel u test-fitted, was that from front wheel or rear wheel of an IS250?

thats a right rear wheel off the is250 you can see in one of the pics, so id need to try a front too? ill have to wait till one comes home again sometime or ill hit up lexus for the info today and see what i can find out

well that didnt take long. onfo on the wheels is this.... 17' wheels are 8JJx17 F/R 225/45/17 front or 245/45/17 rear. not sure what the JJ means? thje 18s for is250s are 8Jx18 front and 8.5Jx18 rear... id need to change tires anyway as the circumference is different im sure compared to a 200. what should the 17s run factory on a 200? i only have the ugly 16s :(

You could probably do with a small tire stretch.
Go for something like:
215-225 for the fronts
225-235 for the rears
With those tires on them you should be able to tuck them inside the guard with some camber (which will come when you lower the car)
I've managed to tuck 18x8.5s with 215/40/18s in the past without scrubbing

They will fit no troubles.
I am currently on 17x9 235/45 +38 and with the guards rolled and it tucks in nicely as you drop you gain a fair wack of camber

soooo to get the correct rollout on these wheels, while being able to clear the guards, what tire size would i need? 215/45s? smaller? i reckon ill need to roll the insides of the guard as well, but not really keen on doing that, trying to molest the car as little as possible

Yeh i would probably go a 225 or 235 but its hard to say without visually seeing the clearance

yeah well on that wheel was a 245/45, which was way to big. apparently the wheels are only 2mm wider though, so must be the tire thats putting it on the limit.

the factory IS200 17"x7 rim & 215-45-17 tyres all around .
I still got factory 17"x7 wheels, but I got 225/45/17 tyres on all 4 corners.
so I guess with IS250 17"x 8 rims, u can put 225-45-17 on all 4 corners without problems.
