Title: Apexi N/a Timer
DrUsTR - October 7, 2009 04:14 AM (GMT)
Hi,
Just a quick question...
I've recently installed a Apexi N/A Timer in my car and it works fine and all, but the only problem i found is that it doesnt seem to work with the factory alarm.
Like i can not lock my doors, when the timer is counting down. and if im already out of the car and have closed my doors when the timer goes off my lights are still on. and when i lock the doors the headlights stay on.
Is there a way to by pass this ?
or would it be best to get a new alarm system which can by pass this ?
**I just put it in for the sake of it.. i had sitting around for awhile, since it was suppose to go in my previous car, but never did i thought i would put it in this...**

Not sure about the factory alarm but with my Dynatron alarm, they had to install some kind of chip so that when my Apexi timer is counting down, I can still arm my car

hmmm.. I see...
and did that also turn off your headlights when they are set to auto ?
or do you have to turn your headlights off manually

oh i see...
so there's no other way other than installing a new alarm....
was your alarm just a factory upgrade or a complete new alarm system ?

There might be a way around it, have a chat to a competent auto sparky around your area.
Mine was a complete new system, stock boot button still works though :P

yeah thats all i want to work... just aslong as the boot release button works.. im all good for a new system... upgrading the factory alarm is soo expensive..
thanks for the input Nick! :D
