Title: Potential Lexus Owner

Hi everyone

I'm new to this forum so please bear with me, I was thinking of purchasing a Lexus IS250 and probably want to change the rims, bodykit etc...

however my question is, is it worth to buy a new IS250 or a secondhand one?

Considering it's been almost 5 years with no body change with IS250, do you guys think Lexus might do a new model of the IS next year besides the IS250-C ?

your advise is great

Cheers

yea i think the IS250-C is a swansong for the new one. Looks like they are just selling off all the Is250 bodies to make way for the new one...

so yeah is it still worth it to buy a new IS250?? or a second hand one

well considering i want to change the rims and add body kit i think its better to buy a second hand one because it is a bit cheaper in the pocket

let me know what you guys are thinking......

If your modding it I would recommend a 2nd hand one.

Or even a demo one perhaps?

From what i've read we should expect the next IS in early 2012 for it to follow a 7 year cycle on each generation. Wasn't that why they originally said they weren't going to make an IS-Fc as the body will change too soon.

Aim for low Km less than 50K, make sure its sound and serviced by lexus(full log book) and look for a proffesional type that has kept it stock not some boy racer who has had enough of daddies car. There is plenty of good clean examples to find you just need to be paitient for the right deal to come along. If you have a little extra cash maybie go to lexus because they can offer you great deals on servicings and you get a waranty unlike old joe who just wants to get rid of it because its about to let go a bearing.

Also at least with lexus of Adelaide we always get really good trade in values on our old cars if you have a car you will no longer want. Plus the 180,000km/2 year warranty is pretty nice.

This is a very subjective topic.

If you're buying anything to do with a Lexus, be prepared to spend. You get what you pay for. People who buy luxury top end cars, have no issues with money.

It'll be silly to put this on a loan too.

However, having said that, Lexus offers one of the lowest interest rates on the market, and the cars are built to last. Make sure you have good insurance, and are fully insured. When you start to modify, many insurers start to say no to your insurance.

Be prepared to take third party, and have some savings/contacts for damages.
