Watch out for import duty if you do order one. I hear customs are clamping down on it lately. Be prepared to pay another 12.5% on top if you're unlucky.

that one is as old as the internet. i think they've gone under twice now

they go under like all reputable japanese companies do, then reopen with a new name thanks to a government grant and a large restructure and continue on.

sharp price though but as someone said earlier, not without some great risk. better to buy from local supplier, like 41 etc

What isnt reputable about Nengun?

The prices on there are basically half price! going back 6 months ago a Power Fc was around $1500AUD and the hand controller was an extra $300AUD or so...

I know several people who have purchased from nengun with out ever having a problem...if local suppliers sharpened the prices to be in line with the likes of nengun sure i'd be keen but really....saving like 800$ is more important to me :) and at the end of the day....its all insured

kinggts25, local suppliers have to pay import duty on most things they bring into the country depending on it's tariff classification. Then when you buy the goods you pay GST. So you can be paying anywhere from 12.5-30% just in tax alone. Buying from nugun you probably wont be charged their local gst/tax & hopefully wont have to pay import duty. That's why its cheaper. On the flip side you're also doing the local economy out of much needed revenue.

didnt say anywhere that nengun wasnt reputable. i'm commenting on Apex-i, not nengun

So what's the risk? An apexi FC unit failing?

No, the risk is you can get stung with import duty on entry into the country if you buy from nengun as you dont pay duties and taxes like an importing company does, which is why it is quite a bit cheaper by buying offshore. you run the risk of getting caught importing goods you havent paid import taxes and tarrifs on, so end result is it possibly costing as much as buying it local.

personally i've had things get through no worries, and been stung bigtime for things i shouldnt have been.

bearing in mind this is for nz, i dont live in aussie, so i couldnt comment on the importation restrictions and loopholes you have.
