I've noticed that when the engine is cold that the tiptronic won't change down to 2nd but when it's warmed up a little it's fine.
I'm guessing it might be some kind of safety feature for not over reving when the engine is cold-either that or something is just a little farked?

Mine is the same - going to work in the cool CHCH air it takes quite a while to change up to top gear(using granny mode to warm things up slowly for the first couple of k's), but once it is warm it changes into top a lot sooner on small accelerator openings. It is actually very consistent when it changes up as I go past the same intersection every day & it changes then !!

Safety feature... everyone's will be the same...
Also, going down hill and you tap the brakes and the box changes down... thats normal too...
