LEXUS RIDES TO THE RESCUE FOR MELBOURNE CUP
Lexus Australia will become the exclusive vehicle supplier for the 2009 Melbourne Cup Carnival, following the late scratching of its previous vehicle supplier.
Lexus' commitment of the 2009 Melbourne Cup Carnival will expand to include supply of vehicles for the Melbourne Cup Parade, as a supporting sponsor of the 2009 Myer Fashions on the Field, and a principal sponsor for the major fund-raiser to support the Melbourne Cup Community Fund.
Along with its increased support, Lexus will once again grace the VIP Birdcage with their two-storey marquee - this year featuring a striking bronze theme.
Lexus has also enlisted Neil Perry, their new ambassador, to create his signature dishes and cocktails for guests' enjoyment at the Lexus Emporium. These dishes are designed to take full advantage of local produce.
Lexus Chief Executive John Roca said that the increased support from Lexus was a result of a strong seven-year relationship that Lexus has formed with the Victorian Racing Club (VRC).
"Following the withdrawal of the VRC's principal vehicle sponsor at the eleventh hour, Lexus was approached to support the Melbourne Cup Carnival and, given our long standing relationship, it was a natural progression of our support.
"Lexus' increased support is not only strategic, but also demonstrates the value we place on long term partnerships - much like the way we treat our customers. Lexus is about the relationships we form and forge.
"We are pleased to also announce that we have signed on as the exclusive vehicle supplier to the VRC and Melbourne Cup Carnival until 2011, demonstrating our commitment to the VRC and Victoria" said Mr Roca.
