LEXUS GIVES PUNTERS A CHANCE TO WIN ITS 60,000TH VEHICLE
Lexus Australia has celebrated the delivery of its 60,000th vehicle in Australia by donating it to the newly formed Melbourne Cup Community Fund, which this year benefits the Olivia Newton John Cancer and Wellness Centre Appeal.
The 60,000th vehicle, a Lexus IS 250C convertible, will be offered as the major prize in the Melbourne Cup Community Fund's 2009 Pin and Win Competition.
Funds for the charity will be raised through the purchase of lapel pins, which then entitle the purchaser to enter the major draw for the IS convertible.
Pins can be purchased directly from the charity's website, through participating outlets and at the 2009 Melbourne Cup Carnival.
Lexus Chief Executive John Roca said that support for the Melbourne Cup Community Fund and The Olivia Newton John Cancer and Wellness Appeal is part of an increased presence for Lexus at the 2009 Melbourne Cup Carnival.
"Lexus has forged a strong relationship with the Victorian Jockey Club over our seven years of support and this year gives us the ability to further reinforce that relationship," said Mr Roca.
"Lexus' support of the Melbourne Cup Carnival is more than just hospitality - it's our opportunity to engage our customers, dealers and suppliers. It also gives us a platform from which to support charitable activities, such as the Melbourne Cup Community Fund."
Olivia Newton-John said that she was delighted by the support shown by the Victorian Racing Club and Lexus.
"Funds raised from the Pin and Win promotion will go a long way to raising money for a dedicated Cancer and Wellness Centre for Melbourne," said Ms Newton-John.
"I know from my own experience, that a positive mind and a supportive environment, alongside integrative care and treatment, played a huge role in my healing. It's not just about treating cancer; it's about healing the whole person."
