Title: Rs200z?
Description: I'm a dumbarse

Just discovered yesterday that my altezza is the Z model. I never saw the Z when I was looking for what kind of diff I had when I 1st bought the thing, must have been having an acid flashback or something. My diff is a non LSD and I have an auto.
I've managed to work out the differences in the models by looking at the option sheets that have been posted and understanding the chasis numbers but I don't get why some have body kits and the nice mesh grills and some don't
I was thinking that it was only the Z models that must have come out with the factory body kits and the mesh grill but as mine has neither that kinda stuffs that theory.
Are these just options on some models or what?
Does anybody out there know?

All the bodykits etc were just an option from factory. Pretty sure regardless of model you could get any kit/grille.

somewhere E910 posted a spec/factory option sheet for the RS200's as you have obviously found.

Ours is listed as a RS200Z (5AT) but has a great deal of things different to other RS200Z's. i guess customising happens a lot in japan. Ours also has a TRD sports badge/front grill would be interested if this is a factory pack ?

We have a leatherette / vinyl interior and coloured dash inserts a front lip etc.... no idea what was the bog standard factory setup tho. I am sure someone knows or has a link to what the "factory" setup for a 200Z is before the options start to roll in.

I'm guessing you have already seen this? http://www.japanvehicles.com/newcars/toyot.../equipRS200.htm

LSD are optional for Autos, regardless of whether it's Z edition or not.

I think most imports are Z edition anyway, because the base one is a bit lame to be honest, it has steel 16" wheels, and plastic instead of leather steering wheel.

I've only seen one base RS200, it was at Turners.

Bodykits and grills are optionals.

Cheers for the feedback guys, i've seen the post that koz mentioned and 1 that greeneyes put up about the '99 altezza?
I've been car jamming the odd altezza that I've driven past to see if there is any connection between the years and models and the TRD grills but haven't found any, I've gotten used to the grill on mine it just would have been nice to have had a body kit-maybe santa will bring me 1 :D
