Guys, we all know an official cruise/meet is way overdue for us Oz members. Given that it's coming to the holiday period, I would like some indication of which days are suitable in the coming months. Rather than filling my PMs, those that are interested can email me your available dates (or dates which are not suitable).
Click on the email icon below or stephen@altezzaclub.org.au
I will collate the dates and come back with a couple of options. Destination/route suggestions welcomed.
Thanks! |
I'm a spare of the moment kinda guy and not really plan anything till the last minute sooooo, whatever the date is Ill make sure it's free.
gwin - November 3, 2009 01:51 AM (GMT)
For me, generally speaking weekends is this only time, preferably Saturday, Sundays are for growing mushrooms at home. Don't think I'm going for any get aways til the end of the year
sydneyis200 - November 3, 2009 02:39 AM (GMT)
I don't have anything major planned until mid Jan so anytime before or after.
Any idea on which month we are looking at Stephen ?

Depends on when people are free. Aim to make it early Dec.
Ads200 - November 3, 2009 10:05 AM (GMT)
Let me see the options and I'll take it from there, i'll make myself free for this....
gwin - November 3, 2009 08:37 PM (GMT)

oriphin - November 4, 2009 02:02 AM (GMT)
Last weekend of Nov is the only one i am busy so far :)
so early Dec would be good, defiantly keen for a meet up!
gwin - November 4, 2009 01:21 PM (GMT)
Ok NOV 28th is out for me
DR-JEKL - November 5, 2009 07:11 AM (GMT)
For sure Stephen I'm in, Sundays are better for me, also less traffic generally :)
Stephen - November 5, 2009 08:00 AM (GMT)
yojimbo - November 5, 2009 08:08 AM (GMT)
Yeah count me in . Need to go for a drive. Just promise me we see some open road.
sydneyis200 - November 5, 2009 08:38 AM (GMT)
Seems like early Dec suits most ppl.
North or South run this time - Is Wollongong a good drive and not too far ???
yojimbo - November 5, 2009 09:04 AM (GMT)
So long as we go through the nasho.
riderzx10r - November 5, 2009 09:52 AM (GMT)
the gong is good for me. closer to home :)
gwin - November 5, 2009 08:36 PM (GMT)
Early Dec sounds good, and yes. please no traffic, the worst is trying to have a cruise with some idjut in a charade and 4wd driving 20 under the speed limit.
Saito - November 6, 2009 08:14 AM (GMT)
Saturdays are the best for me as i work on sundays..sorry
cookie - November 6, 2009 01:11 PM (GMT)
I wouldn't mind finally meeting some of you guy's and taking the Tez for a good run. I work 4 on and 4 off so it depends on what date everyone else decides on.
Living in Cronulla I would prefer a drive to the Gong.
sydneyis200 - November 10, 2009 04:29 AM (GMT)
Lets keep this thread 'Alive' ppl otherwise like all other meet ideas this might fall through as well <_< .
Lets lock in a day and a place? 5th or 6th Dec ?
chukatsung - November 10, 2009 04:36 AM (GMT)
Just out of curiosity, since I have never been to a meet before.
This is a one day thing?
And where are we going this time?
Weekend should be cool
Stephen - November 10, 2009 07:26 AM (GMT)
Ok, I have been through the responses and most are ok with a Sunday. Let's set it for 6th December 2009.
Now, who is good with locations and routes? Suggestions are welcome...keep in mind we have members up North and down South.
greeneyes - November 10, 2009 09:41 AM (GMT)
The Putty Rd up North was good a few weeks back.
That was a Sunday and there was very little traffic.
We could come down, run up there and overnight in the Hunter Valley before coming back inland.
Hmm... 230Km to Singleton, then lunch and back to Sydney down the coast. Full day! Maybe part way and back.
This is 220Km out & back- anyone know if the road is tar all the way??
yojimbo - November 10, 2009 10:15 AM (GMT)
I tried to organised this cruise a little while ago. No takers. I'll be up for it though, it's a great drive.

I recall trying to organise a putty rd run but apparently its plagued with cops and you nominated wisemans ferry, then Nick stated most cars will scrape on the ferry itself and the cruise concept died?
Looks good to me Keith! (Although I probably wouldn't head back to Sydney with the rest of the pack but head back up north)
Stephen - November 10, 2009 11:07 AM (GMT)
I'm hoping for a good turn out so we need a route which will be suitable for all. Can the above route be done or changed without the ferry crossing?
yojimbo - November 10, 2009 10:43 PM (GMT)
The ferry crossing will not affect anyone with even a remotely legal ride height.
Supra forums have just returned from a Wisemans cruise, no mention of problems with the ferry. Toymods also did one earlier in the year, no problems.
The ferry drivers are very patient with low cars and will help if there is a problem, I was concerned the first time but i didnt even go close to hitting, my intercooler is pretty low too, much lower than the front bar.
The road on the north side is worth the hassle ( if there is one - not usually any).
As for the last cruise I was ready to go right up to the night before, as usual lots of noisey critics found excuses not to go and pulled out, influencing the maybe's to become no shows.
Call me when you get 3 confirmed at the meeting point, I'll catch up.

Couldn't make it on last time I went, it depends on the ferry driver if he/she is bothered to push the boat up against the dock wall or not, if they stay a meter+ back no1 with a low car can get on as the ramp is nasty steep.

Quoted for truth.
lexism - November 10, 2009 11:53 PM (GMT)
im legal according to the Rta... don't be fooled by my signature pic, I dont run that height anymore... ;)
DR-JEKL - November 11, 2009 02:35 AM (GMT)
I'm chalked in for the 6th Dec!

Route still not confirmed yet. How about a Wollongong via Sea Cliff Bridge route?
I'm just adding in options for consideration :)

sydneyis200 - November 11, 2009 09:03 AM (GMT)
Oh Shit !! That's looks awesome Stephen - I'm down for that :).
Both 5th & 6th suit me at this stage.
Phil90 - November 11, 2009 09:29 AM (GMT)
yeh i went on that wisemans cruise and the ferry was so easy i got on easily ive got about 80 or 90mm of clearance and if u angle it theres plenty of room. I might be keen on a cruise if you'd allow a supra :P
