Toyota has withdrawn from F1.
http://www.motorsport.com/news/article.asp?ID=351287So sad to see this happening. They had some great races ths year. They had the same amount of podiums as McLaren even.
And now it ends :(
The big bosses at Toyota had been threatening to pull funding since about '07 if they didn't see any results & with the current financial climate resulting in their fist loss in 68 years I can't see why they would stay. Hopefully they will re-join the WRC with the new S2000 class. What else are they going to do with TTE?
Did you also see Bridgestone has pulled out as well. Now word as yet as to who will supply tyres next season.
Yeah, with Honda gone and dismal results they had no reason to stay, I was hoping with the performance of Kobayashi in the last two races, and the possibility of Raikkonen they would stay.
IMO, if they got Raikkonen, they would have stayed. The car did have pace, and obviously with Honda quitting last year there was no Japanese reason to stay...
Honda, BMW, Renault, Toyota, all the manufacturers are gone. Torro Rosso for sale, and new will be running cosworths that were uncompetitive 5 years ago... Things don't look too bright.
Welcome back Ferrari and the Ferrari International Assistance :P
Rumor has it that Merc will ditch McLaren after next year and go with Brawn, apparently McLaren are already looking to get an engine development facility.
Bridgestone will supply tyres next year. 2011 is anyone's guess Michelin won't be coming back after how they were treated.
