Title: Aeriku

Aeriku - April 15, 2007 11:51 PM (GMT)
[Name:] Aeriku. {air-uh-koo}
[Nicknames:] Tend to answer to Shi, but prefers Aeriku. And sometimes, when playing human, goes by Dramine Maxwell.
[Age:] Nearly ninty-five, but appears about fifteen.
[Gender:] Girlie.
[Species:] Ferrywoman.

[Description:] When standing at her full height, feet flat, Aeriku reaches about 5'5". Though she's slightly underweight for her height, weighing exactly 110lbs. Despite that, she looks perfectly normal and not starved at all. Which is good, because she tends to eat like a starved pig when given the chance. Speedy metabolism, much? I'd think so. Her hands are oddly small, child-like even, and often called petite- though she disagrees. As for her shoes, her feet can fit into anything from a six to a seven and half without cramping or leaving extra space, though she is usually seen sporting sandles- so the cramping part might be a bit exaggerated.

With a fairly round face, it would seem she'd normally seen the smiley-bubbly type with the stereotypical smiley face. Well, not in Aeriku's case. Often greeting anyone with a monotone 'hello' would be casual and normal for her. Not that she's a boring person, she just dislikes the stereotype given with her appearance. Her eyes, which slant slight up at the ends, are wide and a clear sea-green color, often reflecting what she sees like a green-glass mirror. When taking a profile glance at her face, one would notice how her nose lilts up at the end- not in the 'stuck-up' type way, though the look does make her appear even more child-like. Her cheek-bones are quite prominant, framing her face with an almost frightening masculinity and if it weren't for the lacing of thick eyelashes, pouty lips, and roundness to her face one would not recognize her to be female based just on her face.

Her hair is short, cut to frame her face perfectly, and is more often than not see sporting some oddly color in the bangs. Her favorite color to be seen sporting is either a bright turquoise blue or more of a deep-ocean blue. The rest that isn't dyed some odd color is pearl black, shimmering in the sunlight no matter which angle the lighting is hitting it. Rarely it may be seen a chestnut brown.

Aeriku's abdomen is fairly boyish lacking the feminine curve to it. Always donning any form of school-girl styled uniform, she prefers to be seen as the classic 'private school' girl rather than the ferrywoman she really is. She's isn't ashamed, of course, just prefers to hide her 'ability'. Favoring the darker colors, her wardrobe consists of dark purples, blues to match her hair, and blacks. All of her shoes, minus the sandels that are only worn during duty, are black and styled in the infamous mary-jane like shoes. And of course, she's rarely seen without her oar, unless pulling the faux human move.

It's also dreadfully apparent that she's Australian, or faux Australian, by her accent.

[Personality:] Aeriku has nothing against people as a general statement. Though, more often than not, it's very obvious that she finds most people to be idiots. Human and demon alike. Even her fellow ferrymen and women. Often giving off that sardonic air, she may be intimidating at first glance or even first conversation, but once she gets used to you she'll warm up. She prefers people who don't act like idiots all the time, and if you can hold an intellegent or even proper conversation for more than ten minutes you're good in her book.

Having a normal tendency to get pissed off by the smallest things, whether you're her friend or not. She also has the uncanny ability to piss others off in a matter of seconds and pull the innocent facade as if she'd not done a thing wrong. Sometimes, of course, she hasn't done anything but be herself. Painfully blunt at times, her words may hurt, but she only means to make people stronger by doing so.

Her loyalties lie to those in charge with a higher level of authority than herself and even if she doesn't always follow orders, she does respect them more-so than she shows. Aeriku seems to taking an unnatural liking towards anyone she's helping, even if she doesn't outwardly show her liking. Habitual Aeriku thing, best not to ask.

As for other species- hello, whatever. She finds no problem with anyone minus her usual disposition. Whether you're a demon, human, or anything else the world has in store, Aeriku will most likely treat that person the same way. Her sarcastic and blunt nature never take a backseat no matter who you are. Usually. Of course, if someone has a problem with her then she'll automatically pull up her wall and mirror the 'problem' and possibly make things much worse than they should be. Ever the defensive, Miss Aeriku is.

[Occupation:] Ferrywoman.
[Extra:] Usually ties a bright blue ribbon to the end of her oar. It's an Aeriku thing.

[Parents:] Humans, adopted her; Adelaide & Richard Maxwell.
[Siblings:] None.
[Other Members:] None that she's ever met.

[History:] Aeriku's birth is an event that lies in clouds of uncertainty and confusion. There is no information, writen or known, of who Aeriku's true parents are and Aeriku doesn't seem to mind. Young Adelaide found the small child curled up and laying in her flower garden in her backyard. Surprised beyond words, she scooped the small brunette child into her arms and swept her away to show her husband. Mid-aged Richard was just as surprised as the small bundle was held out to him and took the child into his arms with mute curiousity, before uttering the single word, 'Dramine'. Dramine did not cry nor laugh, and seemed that she learned to walk much too quickly for such a small girl.

She grew as many girls did, into a beautiful child with the world reflected in her glass-green eyes. Though she rarely bared a smile, her happiness shone through those eyes, as did her sorrow, pain, and various other emotions. Despite her lack of verbal communication, she learned at a surprisingly quick pace and did not question things as a child normally did. She accepted them as they were. Adelaide, though the old-fashioned woman she was, did not send Dramine to school when the time came. Instead, she raised her daughter up in her own home, afraid to let the strange child roam free. It wasn't that she didn't trust the flower-child [as she sometimes referred to her], but due to her odd nature she was just a bit worried what the neighbors would think.

As Dramine reached her teen years, her 'father', Richard, explained to Adelaide that they could not keep the girl in their home forever in such a prisoner-like state. She was growing, she needed to experience life, she needed interaction with other people. Thus, Dramine began high-school, registered under the name of 'Dramine' as her adopted parents had dubbed her upon finding. Even at school Dramine did not speak, nor smile, nor laugh. She simply kept her seat in the back of the room, quiet, and scribbled idly onto paper. Her classmates were worried, disturbed even, and often made fun of her. Dramine did not care, for she did not feel the words of humans could bother her. Humans- she choose the word only because she felt it to be proper. Not that she knew, at the time, that she wasn't exactly human. Nor demon. Two years later, Dramine stopped going to school, much to her 'mother's' dismay. Richard, however, understood.

It was soon after that that the head of Spirit World introduced himself to the girl, abruptly dischristening her of the name 'Dramine' and explaining that her true name was Aeriku. The girl was at a loss, unsure of how to react to such news, and simply sat with her mouth agap. He then went on to explain why she'd been born, why he was there to speak to her, and why she'd been left in the dark all that time. He presented her with an oar, bid her good day, and left. Dramine--Aeriku sat dumbfounded, staring at the wooden object and then ran home to tell her family. They nodded, explaining they had, indeed, found her in their flower-garden. The appearing fifteen year old girl took it all in stride, and was soon very happy with her newfound 'thing'.

Alrighty, let's get you moving along. ^_^

Description: What is her body structure [boyish? lanky, pear, apple, hourglass, lithe, thin, buff, subtle, etc...]?

History: I'm a bit confused here. O.O

Why was she left in a humans flower garden? If she is born as a ferrymen, much less as a spirit, how is it possible that humans were able to see her? Was she an infant or toddler when found?

Why did the head of Spirit World take so long to introduce himself to her? Why did he show up? Why was she born?

I'm guessing the history ends with her gaining the oar...but she is over ninety years old...what has she been doing all these years?
