Title: Tristan Byrne
Tristan Byrne - April 18, 2007 03:11 PM (GMT)
[Name:]
Tristan Byrne
[Nicknames:]
Tristan, Trist
[Age:]
Twenty-Five
[Gender:]
Male
[Species:]
Human - Sleeper
[Description:]
Split Ends? Never. Tristan's hair is dark brown in color, but is usually highlighted with light brown or blond streaks, hair is also naturally between wavy and curly. Under direct light, you'll be able to see tones of light brown. Usually fair in terms of length or cut quite short. Style varies much of the time- this also depends on the length of his hair.
Most of the time, you'll see Tristan's hair cut really short, not shaved, but quite close to it. Despite his hair being wavy/curly , when his hair is cut like that, it tends to appear straight.
Other times, Tristan might just be either bored of having short hair or too lazy to go get it re-cut. When that happens, it grows- obviously- and the majority of the strands will be around three or four inches in length, once again revealing the wavy-curly hair. When this happens, his hair is always kept away from his forehead and the back might just reach the nape of his neck.
Windows To The Soul. Tristan's eyes are almond in terms of shape, holding a pair of blue-grey irises. At a far distance, they would seem to be dark brown. If you look at his eyes closely, you'll be able to see a dark rim around the iris. His eyes are alluring, there is always a hint of determination within them. They are usually a window to his emotions, revealing pretty much whatever he's feeling.
Cover Up. Tristan's choice of clothing isn't really limited, there are times when his attire will fall under 'casual', 'semi-formal' or 'unique'. Or it might even be a mix. Over all though, his clothes is something he's comfortable in wearing. He won't wear anything just to look good if he doesn't feel like he'll get through the whole day without being clothes-conscious. But you'll most likely see him sporting a stone-washed pair of denim jeans and a simple t-shirt, topped off with a pair of trainers when he's on his days off from work. On work days you'll see him wearing beach shorts- usually Billabong-, a white t-shirt and flip-flops and most probably accompanied by his favorite Oakley sunglasses with black frames and tinted glass.
Perfectly Flawed. There is a scar found on Tristan's left cheek in the result of an attack by a German Shepard when he was around thirteen or so. But surprisingly enough, despite that the wound was quite 'big' at the time- it had ran from just two inches away from the outer corner of his left eye and curved steadily down to the middle of his cheek. Now all that was left was an inch long scar, still starting two inches away from the corner of his left eye and ended just at the beginning of his left cheek bone.
Spitting Image. People have always said that Tristan is a spitting image of his father. The same oval face with the high forehead, the somewhat pointed chin, strong jaw line and straight nose.. Even the fairly high set of cheekbones. When a grin graces Tristan's lips, his set of straight and white teeth are revealed. Mmm. Lips. Tristan's lips are alost even in terms of the thickness of his upper and lower lips, but if you look closely, you'll realise that his upper lip is just a little bit thinner than his lower lip. Even if he's not smiling, the corners of his lips are curved upwards slightly, giving him a forever-smiling mouth. Every time Tristan looks at the mirror, he can't help but see his father looking back at him.
BMI. Tristan stands at exactly five feet ten inches (5'10") and weighs around 154 lbs. His body is toned but not overly toned mainly due to his jobs (surfing and diving instructor) and his hobbies of swimming and playing football (soccer). His build is what you could probably call lean. If his weight and height is calculated with the Body Mass Index formula, Tristan's BMI should be 'normal'.
Origins. If you are not able to tell from Tristan's accent, he is Irish. For the majority of his life, he had grown up in Belfast- Northern Ireland's very own capital city. But what most people don't know about Tristan is that he is in fact, a quarter Scottish. Yes, on his mother's side. Fiona Byrne (formally Campbell) was half Scottish and half Irish. Tristan's father is pure Irish. Making Tristan a quarter Scottish- as mentioned before- and three quarters Irish.
[Personality:]
Tristan is someone who doesn't appear to talk a lot. Because of this, most consider him to be shy. But Tristan is by no means shy, he is very outgoing, even without words. However, he prefers to be the observer rather than the observed. He will usually not speak unless spoken to first if he doesn't know you. When he does speak, you can be sure that his words will mean something. But if he's working or around people he's familiar with, he will talk- but by no means end up being talkative. Of course, when he's drunk the whole 'few words' thing doesn't matter. Because we all know that everyone 'loosens up' when they're drunk.
Although Tristan is not an alcoholic, he can drink a lot. Tristan enjoys a night out at a nightclub. Why? The atmosphere. He's not exactly sure what it is about a nightclub's atmosphere, but he feels comfortable in a dim-lit room with other people he doesn't know. Whenever he's in a nightclub, there's no doubt that he'll be drunk by the end of the night- or morning.
He isn't one who strives on attention, he prefers to have his alone-time yet wouldn't like to see himself being alone. He hates being alone. Yes, I know what you're thinking: how complex. Well, Tristan was never a simple person to begin with. You see, he's the type of person that when you think you know him, you find out something else about him. Just like a feeling you can't put into words because it'll degrade the feeling, well, Tristan is a person who cannot be described with a few words because there is so much complexity.
Trust. It is something found in Tristan's dictionary yet it is a word that isn't looked up a lot. You see, Tristan has trust issues, ever since he had been betrayed by someone he loved and whom he though loved him back. There's is something at the back of his mind telling him that maybe- just maybe- this person might betray him. There is no real answer as to why that thought is there, but it never leaves him. It usually takes a fair while before Tristan finally decides whether you're trustworthy or not, and by then, he usually knows you well.
Once you gain his trust and befriend him, there is no doubt that Tristan will always be right beside you. He will stand by you and stand up for you no matter what. He will be there when you need someone the most, whether to just talk to, to cry to or even to just yell at someone to get the anger out. He's there. Tristan is loyal, there's no doubt about that, and most of the time, he would die if it means he could save you. But again, he's only loyal to those he trusts, and for now, there are very few people who fall under the 'trust' category.
Although it may not be a good thing, Tristan tends to keep his feelings to himself. Everything and anything is never let out, not unless it's overwhelming him. He won't reveal any emotions to anyone. In fact, he rarely reveals any emotions at all, his face is usually kept quite serious. There will be an occasional smirk and sly smile. But it is rare to see him smile genuinely, but when he does, it's quite a pleasant sight. But it's his eyes that usually betray him, his eyes reveal everything he feels. Whether it be anger, sadness or fear. Just look at his eyes and you'll be able to guess his current mood.
This male is not afraid to take risks or try anything new, he will eagerly accept any challenge as long as it's reasonable. However, he can be quite rash. Most times he will act before thinking, sort of like a whole 'act now, ask questions later' sort of deal. This also means that Tristan will take anything that comes to him.
Oh, and lets not forget that Tristan has a temper. Yes, he can blow a fuse pretty easily and won't be afraid to lash out with words and if you make him reach his limits, he will lash out with fists. Attacking physically and lets just say that Tristan has a pretty good punch. Being irritated is probably one of the main reasons he gets angry. So what makes him irritated? Well, there are quite a few things, like all those stupid, useless question that a five year old might ask you constantly.
Fool Tristan once, shame on you, fool Tristan twice, well, that will never happen. Once you betray him once, you won't be able to do so again, because he won't take you back. He won't accept any excuses or reasons you give him, he'll just shut you out completely and consider you his enemy. He can hold a grudge for a very long time.
As far as love goes, Tristan isn't too keen on getting emotionally attached. Mainly because he's afraid of getting hurt emotionally if he's betrayed in any way. What's worse than being betrayed by a friend is being betrayed by a lover. (For him anyway.)
Because of this reason, he seems to have built a wall around his heart, trying as much as possible to avoid falling for anyone. And so far so good. But who knows how long the wall will remain standing until someone knocks it down?

[Extra:]
Dropped out of college.
Tristan's Irish accent is not as strong as it once had been, but it's still audible in his words.
[Parents:]
Christopher Byrne -- Father -- Location: Ireland
Fiona Byrne -- Mother -- Location: Ireland
= Out of both parents, Tristan is closer to his mother than his father, seeing as during his childhood his father was often at work while his mother stayed at home to look after the children. Yet by the time Tristan reached his teen years, there was the whole 'father and son' bonding, Christopher would usually come home and talk to his son and when he got days off of work, the two would usually spend time together at the local Pub.
[Siblings:]
Laelia Byrne -- Younger Sister -- Location: France
= Growing up together, Tristan and Laelia were inseperable. They would go to the park together, have 'tea-parties' together, even play dress up. But as they both entered their teen years, they seemed to become further away from each other, he had his friends while she had her own. They were rarely in the house at the same time, or if they were, they were both in their own rooms. At the age of nineteen, Tristan had left Ireland to go to college in Santa Cruz, and as far as he knows, Laelia is currently in France taking up college there.
[Other Members:]
William Byrne -- First Cousin -- Location: England
= William and Tristan are childhood friends, and seeing as they were cousins only brought them closer together. They attended the same primary and secondary school, but soon went separate ways when it came to colleges. William decided to stay close to home while Tristan wanted to venture out further- Santa Cruz to be exact.
[History:]
Once Upon A Time. Christopher Byrne and Fiona Campbell met when they were youngsters. They were childhood friends and like a fairytale story, they grew up together and fell for each other. So it was no surprise when they declared that they wanted to get married. And so they did. A perfect wedding in a church with family and close friends present.
It was like nothing could go wrong. Although they weren't trying, several months after the wedding, Fiona told the news to Christopher: she was pregnant. Everyone was joyed with the news, and although the couple weren't planning of having their first child so early, they knew they were ready.
The First... After nine months of waiting, Fiona's stomach grew and she became more anxious as the expected date became closer. Then the time finally came and she was lying on her back, tightly gripping her husband's hand as pain surged through her. But several hours later, their first child entered the world and was named Tristan Nathaniel Byrne.
Fiona stayed at home with Tristan, looking after her eldest son while Christopher was often working at his office during the mornings and afternoon but returned at night. Two years after Tristan's birth, Fiona's was pregnant once again. And like before, the couple were joyed.
...But Not The Last. Nine months later, Laelia Alejandra Byrne was born as the last child in the Bryne family. Fiona had found herself stuck to staying in the house, looking after both her children. Gavin would often take time off of work to spend quality time at home with the children and his wife.
God knows where this couple got the names for their children from.
When Everything Was Carefree. Tristan's childhood was like any other child's should be. He had learned to crawl, to walk, his first word was 'okay'- strangely enough. He had attended kindergarten, and soon enough attended primary school. He had a lot of friends and would occasionally have playdates. Yes, a great childhood.
Grow Up, Kid. All that carefree atmosphere changed when Tristan entered his teenage years. Everything started out pretty normal, there was that rush of nervousness and anxiety when you took that 'big leap' from primary school to secondary school. This was the world of the 'big kids'. Of course, he had made a few friends and such, but not as much as he had done so when he was in primary school. Students no longer joined you to play in the sandbox or the see-saw set. No, this was the beginning of the real world. This was the beginning of growing up.
Real friends were harder to find, there were the friends you only saw at school and the friends that you hung with at both school and after school. There were the friends who would stab you at the back and there were those friends who would be by your side no matter what. There were people you made enemies with. There were bullies. The victims and the asailants. Unfortunately, Tristan had ended up as a victim.
The only real thing Tristan had to look up to during his teenage years was that his father, Christopher, had took the time off of work to spend some with his son. Causing them to become closer than before.
Teenage Angst. He was only a freshman at highschool and was constantly being picked on by the senior kids. They would often force him to give them money, and if he didn't they would beat him up, sending him home with a black eye or a bruise on his arm. His cousin, William would often try to stand up for Tristan but only get a share in the beating as well. His parents would often question him, asking what happened, he'd just make up some excuse.
In mid-thirteens he had been taking a shortcut home from school, cutting across some person's yard. The same yard which was home to a fully-grown and ferocious German Shepard. It happened all too fast for Tristan to even try and get away, he felt a heavy weight push against his chest and he toppled to the ground. Then there was pain erupting from his face, and he yelled and screamed. It wasn't long until the dog's owner had pulled the dog away from Tristan. The thirteen year old was sent to the nearby clinic, escaping with nothing but a scar on his left cheek. From then on, Tristan had been fearful of dogs ever since.
By the time he had reached junior year in highschool, it was safe to say that everything had turned around. Tristan was no longer bullied, no, that stopped during mid-sophomore year. He had taken part in the school's soccer and swimming team and eventually became key team players in both. It wasn't long until his popularity status rose and he was well-known through his year and a few lower and upper classes.
It was at sixteen that he had his first real kiss and his first girlfriend. Her name was Rebecca Wood, a gorgeous redhead. They had started going out after Tristan became somewhat popular. They have been going strong ever since. Until it came to late senior year. There was a party at one of his best friend's house and almost the whole school was invited. Of course, there was drinking and dancing going on and when he went to look for Rebecca after losing her in the crowd, he found her in one of the bedrooms in bed. And not alone. He found her with his best friend, James Swanson. Ouch. Since that day, he had serious trust issues when it came to trusting others.
Freedom? Once graduation came, eighteen year old Tristan decided to take a gap-year and just work at the local pubs. It wasn't until a year after that Tristan moved out of Ireland and traveled over to Santa Cruz, California, USA. Where he decided he was ready for independence and would attend college in the US.
It was only a year or so into college that Tristan decided that it wasn't for him. He couldn't of seen himself as a lawyer anyway- it was always his father who had wanted him to become one. So he dropped out, no questions asked, he struggled to get a job and he ended up working two or three jobs at once just to try and pay the rent.
Welcome To My Life. Now at twenty-five years old, Tristan is working full time as a surfing and diving instructor, either for both locals or tourists. He also occasionally bartends at some of the nightclubs. You could say that Tristan has improved far better than when he had started out in terms of money, he tended to save quite a lot at the beginning when he moved from one job to the next and although he may not be a billionare, he is by no means poor.
