What is a Ferryman [woman]?A man or woman from the spirit realm that is responsible for guiding the souls of the recently departed across the River Stinx to the eternal judgment within Spirit World. Also known as Grim Reapers.
What is their purpose, besides the obvious?A Ferryman or Ferrywoman may also be assigned to as a spirit guide to one particular human who has Awakened his or her own spiritual abilities. They also work as case workers to that one person and tries to keep them balanced with both the Living and Spirit worlds.
Can they be seen by anyone?Only spirits, guardians, demons, and humans with the potential to have abilities can see the ferrymen and woman. Though if they choose to do so they can give their body form and be seen by everyone.
What does a Ferrymen and Ferrywoman look like?The appearance of a ferryman or woman is that of a typical human. They can assume the form of a typical teenager with a bubbly nature or be as young as a five year old with a wise intelligence.
Do they eat?Yes. They are like any living creature although they do not have to eat to survive. Most who chose to eat food only do so because they want to; most who do normally eat the same things over and over [like an addiction].
How can you become a Ferryman [woman]?A Ferryman or woman is a station only spirits are allowed to take up. They were never born as a human though they have the appearance of one; this is because the job of a Ferryman or woman is such an important role that they must always have a connection with both worlds at all times.
Are they immortal?Yes. Though if injured they will bleed any mortal wound will heal within time. If the injuries are serve a Ferryman will simply return to Spirit World where they can recuperate. However, they can be killed if a demon devours them or steals their souls.
What about the sickle?A Ferrymen's sickle [Ferrywoman have an oar] works in two ways; one is the fact that is it a weapon that can be used to destroy demons loose in the Living World while it can also be used as a fast form of transportation [Ferrymen can ride on the sickle like a witch's broom].
Do they have any special abilities?Yes, Ferrymen and woman are extremely strong physically. They also have the ability to heal wounds and hold off dark energy.
Though in truth the ferrymen and woman depend more on actual instruments rather than brute force; they commonly use tools that feed off their own energy to protect, search, and destroy enemies instead of their actual strength.
What are some examples of tools that they use?- Demon Whistle: one blow can call weak demons to the user while also causing a lot of harm to the ears of those with strong spirit power within sixty feet.
- Spirit Watch: can locate anything with a spirit or demon aura.
