Title: I! Should =Not= Be ;;Here::
Description: Open to one

So, technically, she wasn't trespassing. Or was she? She wasn't really sure where the lines were drawn but it really didn't matter. Anyone who knew the truth would know that she had rights to be in the old Putnam barn. Even if she didn't, who would be coming by to check? Exactly, no one. The cops didn't come here and the only other building for about a mile in either direction was the old Danvers house. It was their colonial house so, of course they're going to still have it if it's standing. Her grandmother's house in Salem was the original. It was maintained throughout the years to preserve it and she was sure that their magicks had something to do with it, as well. It was old and had history but it was the seat of power for her family and their line and it wasn't going to be lost anytime soon.
She needed some place quiet for a while, though. School was getting harder on her and things were just losing their perspective. It always happened this time of year. It was her mother's birthday. The time between June and October were not happy months for her. Her brother's birthdays were in July, her sister's in August and then their deaths in June. Until October, she couldn't really shake the melancholy that fell over her. Of course, she didn't show it to others but... Well, it was still effecting her but she only let it show when she was alone.
Tonight, she just needed to be away and alone. It was raining but she didn't care too much. Her Black Scion was parked in front of the barn and she made a mad dash into the barn before her hoodie got too wet. Serena dropped the pack onto the ground and pulled off the wet sweat shirt. Serena set up a make shift altar and began her chanting in memory of her family as well as prayers for her grandmother's health. After about an hour or so, she began to clean up but she wasn't leaving any time soon. She wouldn't be sleeping at the school tonight. She'd crash at the barn. Stopping, Serena spun around, looking to see who had just entered the barn. "Hello?"

See this is why you should never, ever mention anything to Kate. Just one little sentence can get her mind spinning in all direction and it can get pretty messy up in there. She didn’t look like one who liked logical answers but she liked things set in stone. She liked facts and everything like that just so she can say something’s either true or not, she does not want a maybe answer. A maybe, what if, could happen answers all made her mad, like crazy mad. She just liked things which she could prove factual or false. It was just the way her brain work, she was a very logical factual person.
So one day, well actually night. She was just sitting in her dorm. Watching some tv show and brushing her hair while Sarah decided to be her usual curious self and brought up the coveted sons of Ipswich. And the story behind them, see Kate knew some of it. Well the basic stuff that everyone else knew like the myths and whatever. But then she had to go and bring up a book to Kate in the library about tons of stuff. Why oh Why did Sarah have to do that she thought to herself. See even though when Sarah showed her the book she pretended to be uninterested she really was and later that day she went in to check out the book, the sneaky little devil she was.
Of course she was curious now, and since she really couldn’t talk to anyone about it she just decided to let it go. She naturally wanted to as Pogue or one of the other guys. But she’s tried that before and he just totally changed the subject at times. So asking him again when she actually seemed interested more than usual would prove fruitless. So why even bother asking him was her thought. But still her mind couldn’t rest.
So after that she decided to go for a walk to clear her mind. She had gone out on the town and all the way to the movie theaters. And then somehow she ended up here. Yea that’s what happens when you get Kate interested in something; she’s never ever able to just give up on it. So somehow her feet had dragged her over to the Putnam barn, oh why oh why she thought as she looked around the outside of it. It was quite creepy looking; I mean she didn’t even like being in the dells much less in the middle of no-where in a creepy little barn.
But then she heard noises coming from inside the barn, her body nearly immediately tensed up. She didn’t even bother to get that the person wasn’t even speaking English. She slowly crept into the barn as she opened the barn door slightly seeing a figure. “Hello” She responded back.
Serena Killingsworth - May 2, 2007 12:47 AM (GMT)
She knew that voice. It took her a moment to let it process as to who it was. Once she figured it out, Serena went about putting away the more incriminating evidence. Everyone who knew her knew she was Wiccan but they didn't know that she was an actual witch. Like, Sabrina witch. She needed to keep it that way. Kate was her best friend but there were things that even she wasn't allowed to know. Once the more obvious and curious items were put away, she emerged from behind a stall wall with her hands behind her back and a grin on her face. She wasn't up to anything, nope. Okay, so that was the obvious clue right there but Kate needn't know.
"What are you doing here?" It was a little out of the way, there was a storm outside, and this wasn't the best place to hang out. Kate wasn't really one to be in a place like this, anyway. Besides, the old barn was said to be haunted, the place where Putnam's vengeful spirit lurks. Serena didn't put much stock in ghosts but she knew the stories behind Putnam and what the Book of Damnation said. Yes, there'd been copies made and one had been passed through the generations to her grandmother. Her grandmother... The woman was dying of cancer and she'd decided that if it got too painful, she was going to will Serena the power. Of course, Serena didn't know this because she would have been against it. "You really scared me," she chuckled.
Kate Tunney - May 2, 2007 01:59 AM (GMT)
Kate looked around, at the figure. See she was too much of a chicken to make a step forward to see who it was. She didn’t know weather it was a real person or one of those haunted spirits types that was supposed to hide around here. She wasn’t one to believe too much in superstitions but this was kind of a special town and stuff. And well to be all truthful and all the barn scared the shit out of her. Along with the rest of this part of the countryside and well just the entire Ipswich to be truthful. I mean what was not creepy about this town, they were myths and even worse they were crazy people that believed in these myths that made them a hundred times scarier than they really were.
She watched as the person came into view after scrambling around the room, what seemed to be like packing up. Ok so now she was sure it wasn’t a ghost. Somehow that relieved her quite a bit but it still didn’t answer the question of the face behind thee hello. She walked in a little bit, she knew the voice was female. And well Kate was a strong chick she could fight if she needed to. She wasn’t like most stuck up bitches around Spenser she could fight without cheap tricks like pulling on your weave or without whining because she broke a nail. Actually breaking your nails hurt like shit she would probably fly into a rage if that happened.
Then she watched as she moved closer and the person came more into the light. It was Serena she smiled a little bit. Her body that was tense now loosened up a little bit. She looked outside the window at the storm, ok why was she here. She thought to herself trying to come up with a good answer to that without looking like an absolute paranoid idiot. There wasn’t a way to make Sarah brought up some stuff that made me paranoid and thinking and being the freak I am I couldn’t let it go so now I’m sneaking seeing what the hell is happening, but she couldn’t say that. She really didn’t need to be looked upon as crazy, they were already a few crazies running around.
She shrugged “I was doing some research on the barn and stuff” She said with a shrug, hey it was sort of true. It was research on the barn, just that she really didn’t specify the other stuff included. She looked at her, that smile she had on her face said it all to Kate. Now what was this sneaky little devil up to, “And now why are you here?” She asked curiously.
Serena Killingsworth - May 2, 2007 04:46 AM (GMT)
Yeah, it was pretty obvious that she was hiding something but did it matter? For all Kate knew, she could have been drinking or something. Well, Serena doubted Kate would have a problem with that and there'd be no reason to hide it but Kate knew about Serena's small oddities. Her biggest thing about the barn, though, was that it was usually pretty creepy on its own. It was old and falling apart and it could have caved in on her at any time and she was still wandering about in there. The ghost stories weren't an issue and Serena didn't fear too much, least of all ghosts.
Serena had been ready to fight if the person had been anyone other than a friendly human. Yeah, mean humans were just as bad but she was thinking more along the lines of demons and darklings. She'd been more than ready to use her powers to defend herself. Serena wasn't much for her powers but she could handle the temptation and she could handle the seduction. When she ascended, she wouldn't have to worry about her life. That didn't give her a right to abuse her powers, though. She didn't want to use them to the point where she did become addicted because then it would be dangerous. She'd thought about binding her powers but it just didn't seem worth it. Her powers had saved her on more than one occasion.
Serena shot her a curious look and then looked around the barn. Well, that wasn't too far fetched. Plenty of people looked into this stuff but it was mostly tourists. Of course, they never really knew how to find this place. "Oh you know... It's that time of the year again." She flashed her friend a sad smile. Kate knew Serena. She knew her past and what that meant. "I just didn't feel like being around anyone right now."
Kate Tunney - May 2, 2007 09:50 PM (GMT)
Kate let her eyes wonder around the room, she was just looking for something. Anything she thought to herself. But the only thing she could see was an old creepy barn in the middle of nowhere. That creaked like a little more pressure on the boards were going to make it crack through the roof and land on the bottom in some deep pain. And how it just had their eerie feeling about it especially when it wasn’t the greatest weather outside. Oh why oh why did she want to come here. I mean two pretty girls both lying somewhat was just a set up for the start of some scary movie, ahh this was too much of a set up she thought to herself. The next thing you know pigeons flew down from the roof and a great big monster came down…talk about freaky she thought to herself but didn’t say anything.
She walked more into the room though, it wasn’t really a warm friendly place that invited you in with warm open arms, but whatever. She gently leaned against one of the walls, gently being a word since she was barely touching it. She didn’t need for it to break and then letting her get hurt, she was already known for falling and tripping over absolutely noting at times, there was no way she wanted to get staked in the stomach with a piece of broken wood. She looked back to Serena as she began to spoke and let her head do a small nod.
Yes she knew some of Serena’s past, of course not all the details. Cause well she really didn’t want to ever push her friends into telling her something more I mean she wouldn’t want to get on a touchy subject. “Oh yea…guess I don’t blame you” She said “People at Spenser have a way of making you feel like a thousand times worse” She said, which was so true. Like seriously people were going to always ask oh are you ok or some shit like that. Or you were going to get those pithy looks from people if they knew, of course Kate wasn’t like that. And she highly doubted that Serena would even like people like that or tolerate them for tat matter.
But she really didn’t get why she came to this barn, I mean it wasn’t like it was widey popular really. It was in the middle of nowhere and well wouldn’t just the cemetery or something be better but she didn’t ask.
Serena Killingsworth - May 3, 2007 01:19 AM (GMT)
The barn wasn't friendly or inviting at all. It was part of the reason why she'd gone out there. It was beyond dangerous but Serena knew every board and nail and she had ways of protecting herself if she needed it. She loved it. Yeah, Serena had been raised to believe in freaky things and she'd been raised not to fear anything between that and the hood but she was still a little weird. She loved anything that could get your adrenaline pumping. A creepy old barn with a storm raging outside was perfect. Even better, it was a creepy old barn with a creepy old history and a bad rep. Yeah, she was definitely at home here.
Serena had probably only told Kate a few things about her history. She knew about how her parents had died as well as her siblings and how her grandmother was sick. Other than that, there wasn't much else that she could really tell her. Everyone knew about the Killingsworths. They were one of the five founding families of Salem. If you looked into their history, you'd find that they hadn't been the most popular people there at the time of the trials but that was ancient history and anyone who thought they knew were deferred by one word from Serena. She shrugged at Kate's words. "It's just... Whatever. I don't care about the other people, I just didn't feel like being there." She got moody and short tempered and really depressed so it wasn't really a good thing for her to be there. "I wasn't expecting anyone to be here," she grinned.

Kate again let her eyes wonder around the room, now she was looking for incriminating evidence on both the part of ‘the sons’ and Serena. But of course Kate could mostly only state the obvious at times. She was smart but it was more factual than common sense. Some people were backwards, but she was just like that. You could ask her what date the world war one ended and she would tell you. Ask her the shape of the stop sign outside of school that she sees everyday and she would be blank. So her deep dark brown eyes came to an rest on Serena as she began to speak again.
Kate had this little problem of always paying attention to the person speaking, though sometimes she could wonder off when the conversation got borrring. But nothing with Serena could ever be boring now. She nodded at her comment, she knew Serena could be a moody little bitch at times and then overbearing overprotective the next. It was fine with her, it was Pogue and Caleb mixed together. And ya know the opposite gender, which was sometimes why she could get along greatly with Serena or be total opposites.
She shrugged “Yea I didn’t even expect myself to be here” She mumbled below her breath. She looked at her from the ground “Yea I didn’t really know how I ended up here ”She said.

The 'Sons'. Yeah, Serena knew about them. Well, she knew their rumors. She didn't think it was really possible. It wasn't impossible but, come on now! They had daughters. What were the chances of there being sons, as well? Then again, that would explain the feelings she got when someone was using and the other girls swore it wasn't them. Besides, so what if she found some stuff? It was a religion. It wasn't like she could prove anything more than the fact that Serena was Wiccan and she already knew that. Serena had told her that a couple of times and she did happen to have an altar in her room. Her room mate wasn't too happy about that but what could you do?
You'd think that it might have clicked... Well, then again, not really. After all, look at it. Each group had your stereotypical break down. Just because the sons and daughters happened to have a similar make up didn't mean too much. Then again, if you paired that with the fact that they were also rumored to be 'special' and all and the daughters really did have powers and then throw in that both groups just 'happened' to be the founding families of Salem and Ipswich? Yeah, it was too much to be a coincident but when you didn't give yourself a chance to believe in that opportunity, you really didn't let it click. "You didn't walk out here, did you?"
Kate Tunney - May 4, 2007 02:03 AM (GMT)
Yush Kate had known about the whole Wicca thing, it didn’t mind her much. It didn’t matte to her but she wasn’t one for religion. She wasn’t one to say that everyone had to be ani-religion but in the famous words of Mick Morris [form 18v] ‘When one person suffers from a delusion, it is called insanity. When many people suffer from a delusion it is called Religion’. So she wasn’t totally against it but she just thought many things had people fooled like the clubs and cults or whatever as for the Christians. Well she’ll believe in what she can see. Let God appear to her and she’ll believe.
Kate her question as she shook her head “Naw…Well not all the way I drove some and then I walked deeper since I didn’t think it was safe to drive in more” She said “Wouldn’t know what ditch I would get myself into” She said with a small chuckle. Since it would be so like Kate to do that sometimes. I mean how Kate-ish would it be to be driving and then all of a sudden get youself stuck in the middle of nowhere in a small swampy ditch.

She'd seen what her powers could do and where they derived from. The best part of her faith was that it was free. She didn't have to deal with people telling her what to believe or how. She knew that the power came from within her. The ancient Egyptians didn't rely on their gods for things and they took credit for the things that happened to them. Pretty much... The gods were like the queen of England. They were mostly there for show. But, hey, to each their own. She didn't knock anyone for what they believed in and Kate didn't say anything about it. Really, though, it was the Christians that had the biggest problems with her. Well, actually, those that had monotheistic faiths, in general.
"Yeah, that wouldn't be fun." Kate was... Well, she was Kate. Kate wasn't the most graceful but that didn't mean too much. "These back roads are insane. They're kind of like the ones I learned to drive on, though, so of course I'll take the risk." Just because she was comfortable on them didn't mean that she couldn't get herself into trouble, though.
