Overall;; The mother who wants nothing but the best for her son, the mother who doesn't want to see him fail, Evelyn can come off as pushy, when really, she just wants others to just exactly what she means. She wants to be understood completely, but in doing so, is completely misunderstood. The 'loss' of her husband has ultimately damaged her, causing her to be edgy and often times paranoid, while all the while suffering from minor bouts of dimensia on occasion. More than once has Evelyn mistaken her son for his father after a late night spent alone; the drinking doesn't help much either. But underneath this sickly exterior, she looks up to and upon Caleb as a shining light, burning bright with the promise of future. The alcohol and the disease may make her unbearable to live with, but dammit, she's his mother, and he should take everything she has to say to heart more often. She's not doing it because she has nothing better to do, she does it because she loves him with all of her heart, and it would break to see him hurt or dead, all because he was careless. Don't get her wrong; she knows he's a good boy. However, children are children, and they always will be.
