Pogue Parry - July 27, 2007 07:39 AM (GMT)
Pogue felt a little bad since he hadn't really talked to Kate since the fight at Nicky's. It was that and he was working kinda hard on the swim team. Lifting a free hand he knocked on her dorm door which she shared with Sarah. He had made sure to call first but Kate didn't answer her phone. Which meant she was either mad at him or it was on vibrate because of class. Stepping away from the door he rested his back against the side wall.
His one hand carrying two motorcycle helmets the other playing around with his keys to his bike. Pogue knew something was up with Kate the minute he had seen her all giggly with Chase. He didn't know if it was either his ego or jealously that fumed his hate towards Chase but it had made sure not to trust the guy period. That meant Kate being alone with him when he wasn't around.
Kate was probably the only girl in his entire that he has had an actually relationship with. Because of his secrets he felt like not getting close to someone was for his best interests. Before Kate his life was pretty much one night stands and thats it. But the day he met Kate it all changed pretty quickly. Sure it scared him a little but he quickly for over it. The last thing he wanted was to break up because of some new kid.

Having some macho wanna be boyfriend definently did not fit Kate's profile. She was so through with Pogue's crap. She didn't know why he had to be so touchy about Chase, it isn't like she's going to have sex with him or something. She just went to go see a movie. Her phone went off again. This guy was clingy too. She had made it clear she was a little angry at Pogue, yet he still bombarded her with messages. Pressing the power button, she shut off her phone.
Upon hearing a knocking at her door, Kate rolled her eyes. Who was it now? She walked to the door quickly and opened it. Seeing Pogue after that stupid fight at Nicky's was not the smartest thing he could have done. Kate didn't smile when she saw him. "Come to admit you were being stupid?" She spoke harshly to him and looked up. Technically Pogue was taller than her, but her words spoke louder than her height.
She tried not to change her expression when she saw his face. Definently sorry or at least desperate. In his hand there was another helmet. Out for another ride? She thought about accepting Pogue's coming apology and didn't know what to think of it. She'd dated him for a while, and she had to be honest, their relationship was one of the best she'd had. Before guys would date her for her money or for her benefits, but Pogue actually liked her for her. A little smile crept on her face.

Hearing the door open made Pogue turn his head. He half expected Sarah to come out tell him "Its not a good time Pogue, come back later" on Kate's behalf. Hearing Kate's words made him mentally kick himself in the ass. She was pissed and she had ever right to be. He was acting like some jealous boyfriend that kept a short-leash on her.
Letting out a small breath he nodded "Yeah..." lifting a hand he scratched the back of his head a little. "Listen Kate, I'm sorry about the way I've been acting lately" he said with a small sigh while looking at her."You have every right to be pissed at me. I'm not saying you don't have to I deserve it I know I do" looking down he shook his head slightly.
Collecting his thoughts he lifted his head and locked eyes with her "Your the first girl in my life that hasn't ended in a one night stand or only lasted for more then two weeks" resting his free hand in his jacket he sighed. "The last thing I want is for us to break up over the way I've been acting. Now promise me you won't tell the guys about me spilling my guts because I won't hear the end of it" he finished talking with a small laugh.

Pogue's response was not what Kate had expected. She'd expected some angry guy, the same that would have probably argued back. But he admitted every word of it. His genuine apology made a smile split on Kate's face. "You do deserve it..." She mumbled, but didn't bother hiding her smile. How could she be angry at a guy like him. Admitted, he was clingy and called all the time, but isn't that good? It meant that he wasn't thinking about anyone other than her.
Hearing his confession turned her smile into a pleasant smile. "I'm glad we agreed on something. You're probably the most permanent guy in my life. And that includes all the guys in my life." She rolled her eyes a little and then shook her head. "Jesus Pogue. Forget about your ego for a minute. I'm glad you told me." With a slight smile, she took her helmet from his hand. "So are you taking me on a ride, or did you just bring the other helmet for props?" Since she'd dated Pogue, she'd never felt better on a bike. She used to be terrified and annoyed by the sound and the feeling. But with him, she felt perfectly safe.

Feeling her take one of the helmets out of his hand he smiled "Well I was going to take you for a ride and maybe out for the night if you weren't totally pissed at me. Which your not so that would be a yes" laughing lightly he switched his helmet to his other hand and put the free hand out to her. "Come on before it starts to rain" weather in Ipswich was a little weird one minute it could sunny the next minute it could be pouring. It was something Pogue was use to since he had grown up in the small town.
He would sometimes go for bike rides when it was raining even though his parents didn't like the idea of there only son driving a motorcycle while it poured. Lucky for him he had never crashed his bike. Well there was one time when he was sixteen but he didn't really remember how it happened considering he as laid up in the hospital for a couple days because of minor concision.

At the sight of Pogue's smile, a happy Kate's heart did a flip. Ok she forgave him, after all he was so cute and that smile was to die for. Fingering the helmet she nodded. "Sure. Let's go. But I need to get a jacket." She motioned him in as she walked into her closet to get her jacket. Thank god she already had on her jeans and a tank top. She pulled her leather jacket out of the hanger and put it on. It was a jacket she got after she started dating Pogue. Turning to Pogue, who was probably on the bed sitting or just standing there, she presented herself. "Ok! I'm ready. Let's go."
Outside the rain had started falling. It wasn't like a pounding rhythm, but a light drizzle. She opened the door and gestured out to the halls. She normally wouldn't think about getting on a motorcycle with a guy during rainy season, but being with Pogue always had this feeling of safety. It was like he was a good luck charm.

It didn't take them very long to get from her dorm room to outside. Though sometimes Pogue wished the Spencer had elevators instead of having to go go down five flight of stairs. Once outside Pogue walked over to his bike and climbed on. It had started to rain a little but not bad enough that he couldn't drive his bike. He would just have to be careful of puddles. Unlike last time that he had taken Kate for a drive they both gotten wet and it wasn't even raining.
Slipping his helmet over his head he kicked back the kick-stand and turned the bike on. Hearing it roar with life made him smirk within his helmet before turning his head and looking at Kate. "I promise I wont hit any puddles this time" laughing he shook his head before revving the bikes handles a little.

Walking down all those stairs only took a while, since Kate did it most of the time. Though it seem to take out Pogue a little. Probably just tired. Smiling at the light drizzle. "I'm pretty sure it's ok if you hit some puddles." She winked at Pogue. Pulling on her helmet she heard the ducati roar to life. Getting onto the bike behind Pogue she held onto Pogue with her head leaning on his back. A rumbling in her stomach felt like butterflies. SHe was getting that feeling that she always got before getting on Pogue's bike.

Grinning Pogue knew what she meant that if he did hit a puddle it would be okay. The last time he had taken Kate on his bike they two ended up getting soaked. After the ride they went back to his place and both of them jumped in the shower. "Hold on I had to get it fixed today so it might be a little bumpy at first" Pogue blamed himself for wearing it down. He drove it so much he amazed it didn't up and die on him. Even if it did he could easily afford another bike if that ever happened. Revving the handles a couple times he pulled out from where he was parked and headed down one of the Ipswich roads.
