With Harvard on his mind and high marks in just about every class, Caleb is an ambitious and goal-oriented individual who wants to succeed in life. The ambition and need for success can be found in Caleb’s extremely competitive nature – accredited to the Aries in him -- which has helped him stay on top of the swimming team in the free-style category and has helped him lead the same team to two consecutive state titles. Outside of Spencer and before Sarah, Caleb didn’t really date all that much in the past and has a slightly secretive side to him which can sometimes be an annoying habit; a habit which he shares with Pogue, Reid and Tyler to some extent and degree. The varying difference in ability to keep the secret of the sons of Ipswich and the powers they hold is what keeps Caleb on his toes as he constantly feels he has to monitor “using” between them. This monitoring ultimately reveals a nurturing and caring side to Caleb that the boys usually pass off as an annoyance, especially when Caleb gets on their cases about using too frequently. To those he likes, Caleb is absolutely charming and, surprising to some, a friendly individual who isn’t keen on confrontation but will not back-down in the face of it as his competitive side demands. Where love is concerned, once Caleb is committed to an individual, he remains loyal and is up front about his feelings for that person.
On the dark side of things, as Caleb is the oldest and is constantly watches out for his friends, he believes himself to be the lone hero; a belief which could undoubtedly get him into some kind of trouble in the long run. Caleb’s temper at times also has a tendency to escape the grasps of his control and can be a rather horrible attribute that has the ability to cloud his judgment.

Born on April the 22nd to Evelyn and William Danvers III, Caleb was always a precautious child with talents that were hidden just beneath the surface. Early in life, Caleb became close friends – in an almost brotherly like manner -- with Pogue, Reid and Tyler as their families were close knit and were the original descendants of families who had settled in and around the Salem area. An only child within his own family, and the oldest of Ipswich sons, Caleb took on leadership qualities early in his life; watching over the younger sons in a patron-like manner that often earned him moments of teasing from the others. When Caleb was younger, his father slowly became ill in increasing frequency and eventually disappeared from Caleb’s life entirely. As the days without his father lapsed, people in the town assumed the eldest Danvers had passed away and accepted it to be fact as Caleb’s mother took on sole responsibility for raising her son. However, it was no secret that Caleb’s mother was slowly becoming addicted to the drink.
As the years wore on and Caleb grew into a young man, it was not unusual to wake and find that he had experienced an unexpected growth spurt, or to find that his shoe size had stretched larger than his current shoe size permitted. However, when Caleb was thirteen, something changed about him that was entirely different from the normal teenage growth spurts. When Caleb and his friends turned thirteen, they each became aware of abilities that defied the laws of anything logical. Caleb was the first to notice as he was the oldest, and soon the others followed.
Afterwards, Caleb was allowed to visit his father who, discrediting the town rumors, was still alive and had been living in an old colony home. Upon visiting his father, Caleb was updated on the ins and outs of the newly manifested powers growing within him. During the conversations with his mother and father, Caleb was informed of the consequences of using the seductive powers too frequently would ultimately cause and was privy to what they had done to his own father. Only thirty-one and under the care of the family care-taker, Gorman, Caleb’s father, for all intents and purposes, appeared to be nothing more than a reanimated corpse that was only alive by means of prescription drugs and a respirator; quite literally, a ghost of his former self.
After this visit with his father, Caleb made it one of his top priorities to care for the ailing man as best he could with school and swimming, as well as his mother who had fallen into the grips of alcoholism after his father left. With the image of his father haunting him, Caleb also made it one of his duties to watch out for the other sons so that they too did not become hedonistic and fold under the seductive pull of using.
Currently, Caleb lives at home with his mother and cares for her instead of living with the other students in the dorms at Spencer.
