God, it was early. It was like... really early. Five in the morning, to be exact. Tyler hadn't been able to sleep, though. He couldn't figure out why, either. Something just wasn't sitting well with him and it wouldn't let him rest. Reid was still fully passed out in his bed, buried under sheet and blanket and pillow and snoring like a car engine. Oddly enough, Tyler could sleep through that. He'd been used to it since he was six. No, they hadn't had to share rooms back home but there had been times when Tyler had gotten scared and slept on the floor in Reid's room just so that he didn't have to be alone. He'd stopped that a few years later but there were also the times when the boys would just fall asleep on the couch or something and then, boom, snoring. Did Tyler snore? He wasn't sure but he didn't exactly listen to himself while he slept.
He found himself awake in his bed in a cold sweat. There had been something he'd been dreaming about but he couldn't quite remember it. Whatever it was, he really didn't want to remember it. Either way, it wasn't enough to go and wake up Reid about it. Looking to his clock on his night stand, he saw that it was only four thirty. Geeze... In any case, he wasn't going to be able to get back to sleep. It was Saturday and he was up before he was usually up for school most days. Of course, when swim practice got back into full swing, he'd be getting up this early... Changing out into his togs in the bathroom and then pulling a pair of baggy sweats and an over sized tee on over it, he grabbed a towel and slipped on his flip flops and slipped out of the dorm. He didn't need to wake up Reid and listen to him yell so early in the morning.
There was no one else in the halls as he headed out to the pool. The door to the pool wasn't locked but Tyler figured that was because a lot of the returning swim team members would be wanting to hit the pool up for some pre season practice. Of course, there was no one there when he came in, though. Sighing, Tyler dropped his towel onto the bottom bleacher and stripped down to his suit. Kicking off his shoes, Tyler took his place at the end of the pool. The front crawl breast stroke was his area of expertise. Caleb was freestyle and then Pogue was butterfly... They were all known for their swimming but, as always, it was the two oldest that usually got the most recognition. Taking in a deep breath, Tyler dove in. He wasn't going to actually swim too much just yet. First, he just wanted to fool around and warm up, stretch out, then really swim. He let himself sink all the way to the bottom, touched it, and then pushed back up to the surface.
Corin Ashford - September 27, 2007 06:56 AM (GMT)
Corin couldn't sleep much this morning, he sometimes had nightmares of his dead mother. He was pretty much dreaming of her a lot, sometimes it was a good dream. Others weren't so good, these were one of those not so good ones. He didn't want to wake up his brother, who remained across the hall from him. He had gotten him in late, though it's good that he's in. He can keep an eye on the 19 year old now, he rubbed a hand through his short spiked hair. He yawned laying in bed, he looked up at the ceiling. He listened to the quietness, it was eerie. He sat up a little looking around the darkened room. It was early in the morning and Saturday. He sometimes fill in for professors that are sick or something, though not classes today. That's good.
He slipped out of bed finally, pulling on a pair of loose grey sweats after pulling on his short black trunks. He rubbed a hand over his flat stomach and then pulled on a clean white tee shirt from his clean clothes basket. He think he'll go and take a swim. It was always relaxing and was his way of dealing with things. After his mom's death he took to swimming in college and track. It felt like he was swimming or running from it all. It had a certain freedom to it where he didn't have to worry about anything. He moved to this door stepping outside in the hallway. He moved across the hallway to his brother's room. He peeped in seeing Corrin was in bed asleep. Good.
He closed the door silently and moved down the hallway. He moved towards the pool, he had left the door unlock. Some members liked to used the pool to practice, that was good. Nothing wrong with extra practice. He pulled the door open as he heard the splash of someone in the pool. He let the door thump behind him before he looked to the pool. Emerald gems with gold specks finally landed on Tyler, he smiled that smile. Tyler was developing into a pretty good swimmer, he like to study all his players moves though the Ispwich brothers are pretty damn good. He moved to edge of the pool arms crossed and still smiling.
"Trying to get some extra practice in Tyler or like me and can't sleep?" He asked with a raised eyebrow before stopping down in a crouch, his french accent very noticeable as he spoke in that manly voice of his. Pretty easily at that, the joys of being inshape and working his body to his advantage.

A voice from behind him gave him a start and he spun around in the water to see the man who had spoken to him. If he hadn't been suspended in liquid, he probably would have jumped. His heart had started to race, not really sure what he should have been expecting. Lately, Tyler had been on edge. It was hard to focus, he wasn't feeling well, and those nightmares... He had a rather large bruise on his ribs as a result of one of them. He hadn't had to worry about anyone seeing them but it was only a matter of time. He was a swimmer, after all, they were practically required to show off their bodies! He had to lie to Reid and tell him that he just fell in PE but he knew the boy had seen through it. Reid knew better than to buy Tyler's lies - he just never said anything about them.
"Coach... hey." He wiped water from his face, swimming to the side to hold on with one hand. "Yeah, something like that." The nightmares were just getting too bad for him, anymore. "Reid snores too loud," he smirked and then pushed up and out of the water. He took care to hide his side, keeping it out of he coach's line of sight. The swimming, he could handle, he just hated the weight training. Tyler reached into his bag, pulling out a power bar. The hunger pains would be coming soon if he didn't and that wouldn't be good if he was in the water. "I think I'm ready for the next meet, though."
Corin Ashford - September 28, 2007 01:30 AM (GMT)
Corin was pretty sure that in a few years Tyler would be very good, practice makes perfect. He liked that Tyler had gotten up so early to practice or something. He had a nice body, and a amazing grace to his movements in the water. He could help him to perfect that, though didn't want to show any special treatment. Though he gave Caleb pointers all the time, so whatever. His team, he'll do what he want with it. He stayed crouched by the side of the pool, looking a little tired. He chuckled seeing he had spooked Tyler, he offered him a smile and rubbed at his neck. "Jumpy." He said, not meaning any offense by it though.
He had wondered about Reid and Tyker for a bit watching them as they would joke around and play or whatever. They were close, he had thought they were more. Though he guessed not, he's not really a gaydar kind of guy, though Reid's pretty much a woman's man. Though still that doesn't mean a thing, sometimes the one with most the girls turned out to be the one with the guy. Haha. Funny...not really. Situations like that usually mean the person is really scared of what they are.
He watched Tyler move towards the side of the pool. He smiled at him and kept his eyes fixed on his face. Tyler's what 16, looking even make him feel guilty so there will not be any looking. "The Sandman definately won't get paid for tonight, doing a crappy job." He said as he laughed a little and moved to let his feet fall into the pool. It felt good to feel the cool water against the bare skin of his feet. "Ah the snorer." He said with another laugh. "Best solution is to put a sock in his mouth though knowing Reid you'll most liekly get clocked." He shook his head and chuckled.
"That's awesome, give Caleb a run for his money." He said winking a little and smiling. "I'm always here to help you train. You have potential, a lot."

Tyler could see himself continuing with swimming until he was done with college. Some schools had already mentioned the possbility of scholarships to him. Of course, he really didn't need them. His family was loaded but the idea of getting to use the money he would have lost on something else... Well, he was thinking about a sweet pad or something in the city near the school. Dorm life, for Tyler, was getting old. It wasn't anything personal against Reid because he would have loved to share an apartment with the guy but he was just tired of living in a dorm with a bajillion other people and sharing showers. He didn't think he'd ever make gold in a competition, though. No, those medals were for the older boys, the ones who would always be better than him in everything they did. Still, it was a start, wasn't it? Getting a scholarship meant that he was good enough for someone to take notice and actually cared about his skill and not the lack, thereof.
Jumpy? Was Tyler jumpy? He shrugged in the water, "Yeah, I guess so." The nightmares were really starting to get to him. You really couldn't blame the boy. He was getting hurt in his dreams and then the injuries were showing up on his skin. Even worse than that, he had a feeling that he was starting to come down with a cold. Oh, if his mother found any of this out... Well, he'd be in trouble and so would Reid. There was no reason to worry about Tyler and Reid. Tyler was only interested in girls. Of course, Reid was interested in any one that would screw him. Still, that left Tyler out of the equation.
Tyler grinned and shook his head. "No, Reid's not the physical type. I'd wake up without eyebrows or something." Or worse, is what he should have said but this man knew nothing about their powers and so there was no point in mentioning them around him. Tyler leaned forward, hiding the bruise behind his arm with a slight wince. Okay, so that had hurt a bit... He opened up the bar and bit into it. It might not have been the best candy bar in the world but it helped with the hunger pains. "Who? Me? Nah, maybe Reid or Pogue but not me. I'm here to swim, they're the ones hat win the glory." Baby boy? Yeah, he was no threat to them.
Corin Ashford - September 30, 2007 11:31 PM (GMT)
Corin watched the younger boy, he was looking a little sick around the eyes. He could see the darking rings from lose of sleep. He cared about his students, his boys he call them. He wanted the best for them and would help them out if they ever needed it. He guessed that he saw them as his brothers he guessed. He shrugged his shoulders to himself. He looked up at the ceiling for a moment thinking of hime for a bit. He realized he had zone out and looked back to Tyler.
He raised an eyebrow when Tyler winced as if he was hurt. He frowned and look him over. He noticed how Tyler was trying to hold himself and he looked concerned. Is he trying to hide something? He thought to himself before trying to get a better look at Tyler's side. He looked up at him and frowned a little. He shook his head and then decided to speak. "You alright?" He asked him with concern, he looked him in the eyes for a moment. The specks of gold in his eyes shining in the dim light.
"Ah...that would be...embarrassing." He said with a laugh and shook his head. He laughed again thinking of a visual before stopping seeing the look Tyler was giivng him. He smiled at him and shrugged his shoulders. "Sorry." He said before rubbing a wet hand over his hair. He frowned a little at his words and shook his head. "you know it's not always good to be in the background." He said raising an eyebrow at him again. He moved to lean back onto his hands. "You're good, not as good as Caleb yet though with practice who knows." So maybe he was tryng to boost the boy's self esteem.
It would be nice to see him at his potential.
Tyler Simms - October 1, 2007 06:36 AM (GMT)
Yeah, Tyler rarely got sick and so it was usually pretty obvious. Of course, no one would anticipate just how bad it was going to get. It would nearly kill him but it wasn't going to be something so natural. More than that, the person causing it wouldn't let him die... Too bad they couldn't see this coming. It might have helped them prevent it a bit... Still, Tyler didn't bug people with his problems. He would keep quiet about his pain until it got to the point where you just couldn't hide it anymore. Tyler didn't think much of the silence. It wasn't as if he and Corin were close friends and sometimes conversations just kind of died in and out.
He had thought that the man was still lost in his own thoughts when he had made the face. If that had been the case, he would have been lucky and not had to worry about him seeing it but, it seemed, that he wasn't that lucky. "Huh? Oh, yeah, fine... Just a little sore." Well, that was going to be proven as a white lie just as soon as he stood and showed off his side once again. Maybe hed be able to slip out without it being seen. Maybe... He didn't like lying to people but he didn't like people worrying about him, either. His mother did more than enough of that for him.
"Yeah," he laughed and nodded after swallowing a mouthful of the bar. "He did it to me when we were younger. I mean... For him, it's not as bad. You know, blonde hair and all. For me, though? It was really obvious, especially when he only shaved off one!" They'd been about eight or so and Reid hadn't liked the fact that Tyler had accidentally broken one of their toys so he got revenge on him in the middle of the night. His smile faded away and he nodded "It's just... the way it is." He was always going to be in their shadows while he was with them. It was a fate he had accepted long ago. "I've been thinking about moving to the dives, anyway. I mean... At least then, there's no need for comparisons, right?"
Corin Ashford - October 3, 2007 03:14 PM (GMT)
Tyler and himself wasn't very much of friends, Tyler's quiet and he never really had a chance to talk to him as much as with the other boys. He would like to get to know all of his boys though Tyler's a little on the shy side and it's hard to get to know him when he's always being overshadowed by the walking orgasm. Hey just cause he's an old man doesn't mean he can't look. That sounded so wrong on so many levels and he's not an old man. Hell he's far from old, he can still get it up. Okay change of subject, back to Tyler.
Reid lookd at Tyler not believing the whole sole thing. He didn't think that Tyler was sore, swimming took a lot of your bodies movement. It wouldn't be wise to swim if you're sore, not ver comfortable either. Well he don't think so. He looked over Tyler for a long moment trying to understand him maybe get inside his head. See what wrong though he's not getting anything. He need to know Tyler a little better. "Maybe you have too much of a tension back up in your side. It's easiler to have your muscles lose and relax before taking a swim." He said to him and offered him a smile. Trying to get him to warm up to him.
He looked up to Tyler's face imagining him with one eyebrow. That would look...damn poor kid. He prob got picked up for days and then some. "Well at least he knew to go for the eyebrows. They bring out your feat-" He stopped himself and laughed a little thinking that he wasn't going to go there before quickly changing the subject. "You should get him back one of these days." He frownd a little at Tyler and sighed softly. "Right...though if you're in the spotlight there's changes you're have a greater higher future then what you plan."
