Pippa spent the weekends with her parents. It was just a way to keep the family together. Her brother still lived at home, the low life probably wouldn't be going to college - ever. Whatever. He would enjoy his parties and fun but it would be Pippa to inherit the family fortune just because she was the more responsible one. In any case, she'd spent the day with her parents and then excused herself after dinner. There was a race she wanted to go to and she wanted to get ready for it. Then plans changed and so did Pippa.
Somehow, her brother had found out about the race and had taken her keys from her. She was furious with him because he'd taken them with him to some party where he'd get drunk and end up sleeping with some girl but she couldn't go to an innocent little drag race? Yes, she'd called it innocent. There wasn't really too much innocent about it but it was Pippa so it wasn't like it was bad. Now she couldn't go and she had nothing to do for the night. It wasn't fair! Why did her father let her brother do so much but Pippa couldn't even have a freaking boyfriend?! Neither her father or her brother would allow it and it infuriated her to no end. When it angered her too much, she stopped talking to them. She wouldn't look at them and she wouldn't even stay in the same room as them.
For her father, it was worse. She wouldn't even speak English around him and his Cherokee wasn't that great. He couldn't speak the other two American Indian languages at all so it really was his loss. Angered by her brothers actions, she'd gone for a walk in the moon light. Pippa wore a pair of moccasons that went nicely with her buckskin skirt that stopped just above her ankles. Her sleeveless white cotton shirt was hidden under a black shawl that her grandmother had made for her, complete with beautiful and shimmering beads. Her hair was bound in two braids that hung over her shoulders. She was in the mood to relax and her attire showed it. Pippa had ended up at the cliffs and sat down on top of a rock to look out over the land for a moment.
