What now?


Twenty-five years later…

The students of Hogwarts, who fought alongside Harry Potter and his two closest friends in the war against Voldemort, have now progressed into adulthood and have families of their own to care for.


The Ministry of Magic has been revolutionised by none other than the boy-who-lived himself. Cleared of corruption, the Wizarding World has found new trust in their politics, and in their new minister, Kingsley Shacklebolt.


Things couldn’t be better for the new generation of students at Hogwarts.


The new happiness that has swept its skirt over the world has ensured the near to extinction of dementors. Even Azkaban is no longer the place of loneliness and fear it once was.


But its inhabitants are still numerous. Peering out of the cell windows on the flat, misty surface of the lake, are the Death Eaters that were once responsible for the success of the Dark Lords reign. They were his supporters. He propagated their views and hatred of muggleborns, motivated them and took action… Some now plead for forgiveness; swear that their opinions have changed, that they have switched sides. The claim that they had been blind to the consequences, and that by the time they had opened their eyes, they had found themselves too far in to turn around. They feared for their own skins, intimidated by the punishments Voldemort was said to induce on traitors.


All lies?


Then there are the others, whose views have not changed since, who still believe in the coming of a new Dark Lord, who quietly sit in their cells and await the day they can leave the prison and hope to regain the esteem and wealth that was once guaranteed by their alliance with Voldemort.


Their descendants are outcasts and had been stripped of their families’ wealth to finance the postwar reparation needed. Pure-bloodedness had lost the power that had once come with it. One can almost speak of the turning of the tables. Ample prejudices against those of pure blood exist, fueled by the survivors who bitterly grieve the deaths of their loved ones whose only offense had been their muggleborn status.


But will it be long before the Death Eater descendants forge plans to reacquire what was taken from them?


Will it be long before history repeats itself once more?


Will it be long before the tables are turned again?
