Overall;; At first glance, Dexter seems to be an average twenty-one-year-old. With a boyish grin, he cracks jokes, but around new people, he seems to be quiet. Only those who are close to him have cracked his shell and seen the real person underneath. Due to his history, including the effects of his mother, the young and depressed Dexter found a way to hide his sadness: don't even talk to anybody, and simply hate the world.
Dexter can be a hothead. He has an anger problem, stemming from his unstable adolescence, and can fly off the handle. On the same card, he's impatient and can challenge authority. These traits make him a wild card, which, combined with his abilities, makes him a highly dangerous opponent.
Dexter has a genius level intellect. He particularly has an aptitude for computers, technology, and physics. Often, he'll be seen in front of some sort of screen, be it a computer or a television. He's an avid fan of video games and movies. In fact, he loves all sorts of popular culture, so much that he has become a living encyclopedia on the subject, from films to television to comic books.
Beneath the joking facade, though, he is a rather mature and intelligent man - both facts that he tries to hide. It's believed he does this due to his dysfunctional home life, as well as putting up a wall over his mature intellectual side as a form of protection against his anger and depression. It's on this same coin that his dislike for humans is present. All of his life, the majority of his social experiences have been negative, and so he believes it's because of humanity's innate flaws.
When it comes down to it, however, Dexter is an amazing teacher and mentor, and it's obvious that he was destined to do it. Be it as a crying shoulder or as a helper when it comes to English, he's there.
