Through The Looking GlassIs it as it seems? Or just a dream within a dreamIn a time when peace and tranquility were known. A time when mortals died of old age and not war; there was something terrible that went amiss. Prometheus stole a glowing ember from the sacred fire of the gods and gave it to all mortals to protect them from the cold of night. Anger. The father of all gods, Zeus, and his anger came in a form none would have thought imaginable.
Woman. A "beautiful evil". In stories as old as time it is written what gods there are created the first woman and from each she received a gift, Molded and brought to life by Hephaestus, the first woman had beauty that even the gods adored. Aphrodite in all her glory even seemed envious.
Needlework and weaving came from Athena, while Aphrodite shed grace upon her head and from that came cruel longing and care that wearied the limbs. Hermes gave her a shameful mind and deceitful nature with this she was figured with speech and able to manipulate words into lies. She was dressed in the finest clothing and most enchanting jewels. Adorned with a crown a name was finally given to her. A name meaning "all-gifted".
Despite her deceitful feminine nature she brings with her a box. A box that contains burdensome toil and sickness that brings death to mankind. Time passed slowly when Pandora's curiosity got the better of her. Despite her creators warning not to open the box she couldn't continue to fend off her desire of knowledge of what was inside it.
Dark shape, above in the sky, captures her prismatic eye
Again she walks in wonder, With no, with no tearful good-byes
The world was turned upside down when she opened her box. Letting loose into the world unlimited evils. Once she realized what she had done and the gruesome things that now roamed the world, the box was closed before man's hope could be released. Though one would have thought these evils were enough, unnoticed to the mortals of the world. another evil peeked its evil face into the picture. Evil was deemed a name. The Atrox. Its plan was simple to capture Pandora and destroy Hope.
Over the course of time and through out the centuries, champions arose to fight those evils. Despite the fact the evil forces could be pushed back or kept at bay, mankind has never been able to defeat the Box's Legacy.
Years have passed since the box was last resealed and now the evils inside have festered and grown. The year is two thousand and eight and in the little town of Ipswich, Massachusetts the box was found. Opened into a time already on the verge of what many think to be World War Three, the powers of evil within the box and those of The Atrox are given to a select few mortals to once more set out in their quest to destroy Hope.
"Stop with all the lies", all the questions so confusing
Answer the riddles they deny, losing hope, the child cries
New champions have already started to arise, their own powers starting to show. The lines between myth, legend, and truth have become blurred. Now twelve young teenagers have been blessed by a curse to save the world from the darkness.
Six boys. Six girls. One Hope.
