Hayley Williams - April 28, 2007 08:26 PM (GMT)
Hayley's eyes flashed open with the sound of thunder as it echoed through the school. Sitting up she looked around her dorm - the other girl was still asleep. Lighting flashed outside the window, illuminating the room with silver speckles of light. Taking a deep breath the red head pulled the covers off of her and got up. A chill went down her spine as the coolness of the air touched her bare skin. She was only attired in a skimpy pair of white cotton shorts and a red and white striped camisole, no wonder she was cold. Running a hand through her hair she crossed the room and opened the door of the dormitory. Peeking her head out of the frame, she looked up and down the hallway - nothing stirred.
Ever since she was little storms had never bothered her - so why did they now? She knew why, now she was connected to the powers of Ipswich, she was, in fact, a witch and a descendant of the Deveraux clan of witches and warlocks. Quite a history, huh? Opening the door the rest of the way she stepped out into the dimly lit hallway, closing the door softly behind her. Her small bare feet padded their way down the corridor, occasionally looking behind her to make sure she wasn't being followed. Where was she going? She didn't quite know, all she knew was that she wasn't going to sleep through this storm. The hallway was lit by the constant glow of the moon flowing through the occasional windows on the left side of her.
Just as she was getting tired of walking through the hallways, Hayley stopped suddenly and looked out the window she was closest to. A black silhouette had formed over the full moon. She had seen it as she was walking past, but now that she stopped to take a second look - it was gone. Curiosity gripped her and didn't let go. What had it been? She asked herself as her emerald eyes continued to stare at the milky moon. The teenager raised her hand and touched the necklace around her neck - a silver crescent moon amulet her mother had given her before she died. Cassandra Deveraux had said it had been passed down from Deveraux witch to Deveraux witch since the 1600s. Her mother had said that if Hannah had shown any sign of magical abilities that it would've gone to her, but she hadn't so Hayley had received it.
After her mother's death Hayley had been more attached to the pendant that usual. Her grandmother told her that the necklace brought strength to the Deveraux clan and then it would worn it's wearer when there was trouble ahead. Currently the silver moon hung limply on her neck, cool and still. The only mystical look of it came from the reflection of the moon outside which, when it hit the metal, reflected off which gave the necklace the appearance that it was glowing white.
Reid Garwin - April 28, 2007 09:07 PM (GMT)
VROOOOM! The sound of Reid's ferrari roared as he pulled into the school parking lot. Reid as usual had snuck out of his dorm room to have a nice night out at Nicky's needless to say he was pretty drunk. "Party like a rock star!" Reid said with excitement as he stepped out of his bright red ferrari and up to the entrance door. Once he was there he felt his pockets for his keys, and was surprised to find that they were gone, he then checked his back pocket, then his jacket pocket.
After realizing that none ofh is pockets held his keys Reid cursed "Fuck it." He said a second before his eyes flashed black, the eye change was quick due to him not using much power in fact if you were to see it all it would look like was his eyes flashed for a second. After his eyes returned back to their natural color of baby blue Reid heard the click of the door unlocking thanks ot him using his powers on it.
Opening the door and stepping into the Spencer dorm hall Reid was surprised to find Hayley there looking as if she was in some kind of trance. Usually Reid would just nod hello to her and go about his buisness, but Reid was drunk and feeling promiscuis so he decided to flirt with her for awhile despite how late it was. "Hey Hayley." Reid said looking more at her chest than at her face. "What you been up to?" He asked trying to start a conversation.
Hayley Williams - April 28, 2007 10:30 PM (GMT)
Hayley was about to turn and go back to bed when a familiar being stepped beside her, causing her to jump back, her heart beating with fright. "Damn, Reid you scared me!" She gasped, shoving him playfully on his shoulder. There was the faint smell of alcohol coming from his breath as he said her name, but the teenager paid no mind to it - after all, she drank sometimes too. Still the presence of Reid couldn't tear her mind from the strangeness of the shadow that had appeared over the moon. "I couldn't sleep," She said, waving her hand toward the rain-washed window. "What about you?" She asked.
Looking at the two of them now, no one would've suspected that they had once claimed to love one another, but they had. Oh yes they had. Still standing here with her ex brought memories flooding into her thoughts, the memory of first kissing him, the first time he held her hand, the first time they... Screw it. That was the past, this was now. Still Hayley couldn't help but feel attracted to him, but why? Was there really something about him that she liked, or was it her past experiances begging her to relive them again.
Reid Garwin - April 30, 2007 08:38 PM (GMT)
"Me neither." Reid said simply after taking the shove which caused him to stumble back more than usual thansk to Reid's very apparant intoxication. "But I went Nicky's instead of just staring into space." Reid said with a laugh. "Man I played darts with this guy, and he didn't even want to pay me my money after I kicked his ass!" Reid said remembering the ordeal. Of course the only reason Reid even won was because he used. In reality Reid sucked at the game, but when money was involved Reid made sure he was good at almost anything.
((Sorry I was drawing blanks.))
Hayley Williams - April 30, 2007 11:58 PM (GMT)
Hayley laughed, each time Reid spoke she smelled beer. "You're drunk, too." She informed him, as though he didn't already know. "Come, let's walk." She said, turning on her heel and began walking toward her room, looking back once to make sure Reid was following obediantly. It reminded her of the blonde and Tyler, how Reid always bossed him around. She felt bad for the kid, if she were him, she wouldn't take crap from Reid at all. "So, gotten into anymore fights?" She asked. Hayley had to admit, she loved watching guys get into fights, it showed they were manly, and she loved it.
Reid Garwin - May 1, 2007 12:21 AM (GMT)
"N-N-oo I'm not drunk." Reid said studdering which pretty much gave him away, When she told him to follow her he did mostly because he was drunk and horny and in his mind he was following her someway to make out or something. Had Reid been sober he would have never let himself be told what to do.
"Naw, I just swipped his wallet when he wasn't paying attention I think it hurt him more than a punch would it seemed like money wasn't something he had alot." Reid said with a laugh if there was one thing Reid never had to worry about it was money he was filthy rich all of the sons were thanks to their families good investments and basically founding the Ipsiwch colony. The boys' families wealth were all well into the millions.
That was the reason Reid never really tried in school everything was basically handed to him anyway why try for and education when you were going to inherit a fortune anyway?
Hayley Williams - May 1, 2007 12:35 AM (GMT)
Hayley smiled when he caught up to her, knowing perfectly well that he was drunk despite his denial. "Mhmm, suuure you aren't Reidy-poo." She teased, knowing that the nickname made him mad. Just seeing the look in his eyes when he was intoxicated made her want something to drink, but knew she couldn't. The teenager only allowed herself two drinks a week to make sure she didn't get hooked like some drunks were. She liked drinking, but only to have a better time than she would otherwise.
When they reached her dorm Hayley stopped, looking in through the door that stood ajar. So far she hadn't had a chance to be assigned a roommate, so she stayed alone in the half-empty room. With her back against the door Hayley placed her hand on Reid's shoulder, looking up with him with a question in her eyes - would you like to come in? Te way she was feeling right no made her seem as though she were drunk.
Reid Garwin - May 1, 2007 09:12 PM (GMT)
Reid’s face dropped at the sound of his nick name he hated it back when they were dating. But SINCE they were dating he had tolerated it, but he couldn’t help but smile at the memories it sent through his mind back when he didn’t have a car and Reid was simply the rebel freshman looking to stand up to the cruel seniors of Spencer High. He had been successful to after only three weeks no one senior, or otherwise even thought of messing with him. No one other than the other Sons knew how he did it, but it was pretty simple he had ultra cool warlock powers and they didn’t they’d pretty much lost before the war even started.
Reid read her look, after all he may be a little thick headed, but he was no dummy. He leaned in so that his face was only centimeters from hers and for a second it seemed as if he was going to go in for a kiss. But him being drunk a rumor just had to pop in his head. Reid had been told by a very gossiping girl at school named Kira that Hayley had been involved with a guy named Chase Collins. Reid had heard of the guy mostly through Pouge’s complaining about him apparently hitting on Kate, but Kate was a naturally flirtatious person and Pouge was definitely the jealous type. So Reid had written it off as a mixture of the two.
And plus from what Reid had seen of the Chase guy him hitting on someone else’s girl friend was out right impossible. From what Reid could tell that guy was obviously gay and hung out with Kate as a guy friend after all Pouge wasn’t much of a conversationalist even Reid knew that. But supposedly Hayley had been with the guy now things were different Chase was going after Hayley that meant only one thing bad news! “Whats this I hear about you and this new kid Chase Collins.” Reid asked more accusingly than curiously.
Hayley Williams - May 3, 2007 12:14 AM (GMT)
The red head removed her hand from Reid's shoulder and looked at him like he was a bug. "What?" She gasped, "Who told you that?" Sh was hurt - for some reason all of her feelings for Reid were coming back, and it hurt her to have him talking to her about Chase. "I'm not involved with Chase Collins, he's a friend. We've had a few flings but I haven't seen him for a while." She now desperately wanted a drink, just to get her mind off of this. Why would Reid bring this up? WHY? Couldn't he tell this was not the time? She wasn't expecting this, She was expecting him to lead her into her room and they would have a nice, well, who cared now? He was pissed and she was pissed and they were pissed and she wanted nothing more than a drink and a good make out session with her ex boyfriend, goddamnit!
Reid Garwin - May 5, 2007 04:44 AM (GMT)
Reid couldn't believe Hayley had actually had a fling with Chase Collins the guy was a fruit. Reid had always thought that Hayley was into the bad boys which would explain her dating him of all people. After she had told him that Reid's drunken mind and begun to fill with rage, and all the devil of the Ipswich boys wanted to do was to fight Chase to prove to Hayley that he was not worthy of her time.
"I'm going to beat his ass!" Reid said sharply his words somewhat slurred due to his drunkenness. Hayler knew full well how dangerous Reid was she had seen him knock out plenty of people twice his size even back when he was a freshman. And thanks to his powers Reid had gained quite the rep for being a scrapper around Spencer. In fact all of the boys had a repuation for winning fights, and most people tendted not to pick a fight with them because they knew that if you picked a fight with one Ipswich boy you picked one with all of them.
Hayley Williams - May 6, 2007 08:12 PM (GMT)
Hayley crossed her arms over her chest and leaned back against the door, still wanting this all to stop and to go inside her room with Reid. "Why do you care anyway? We broke up, we were over, it wasn't until now that I realized I still love you!" Damn. She let it slip. How could she have been so stupid as to let those words slip from her mouth? It was the truth, but she wouldn't have ever admitted it to Reid, not now at least. "Please Reid," She pleaded, her voice calm and soothing, "Don't do anything, I haven't been with him in ages, for all I know he has a girlfriend." She raised her hand and placed it on the back of Reid's neck, feeling the softness of his hair on her fingers, "Now, you may fight him if you want, but that can wait, can't it?" She asked, her tone full of want for him. Right now.
Reid Garwin - May 9, 2007 09:39 PM (GMT)
"Why do you care anyway? We broke up, we were over, it wasn't until now that I realized I still love you!"
Her words echoed through his drunken ears and instead of getting happy like he should have Reid Garwin got scared. Reid had always been afraid of getting to close to a girl mostly because he didn't want to feel the pain of lying to her all the time especially when he had to keep so many secerts. Reid was afraid of getting close to just about anyone, expect his Covenant Brothers.
When Reid had dated Hayley it had started before he got his powers, and it ended a year after he got them. With him having to so many secerts away from her Reid had lost touch so to speak he was just never all there with her. Reid stepped back "I-I got to go." Reid said without even making eye contact he stepped back and turned to walk off hoping to rush to his room go to sleep and pretend like she never said what she said the next day.
Hayley Williams - May 11, 2007 08:25 PM (GMT)
Hayley looked up at him like he was a snake about to attack her. Her mind began to race as he walked away, memories flooding her mind as she watched him turn...
They had been thirteen. Innocent little pre-teens. Yeah, right. Of course she had been self-conscious and frightened of getting close to anyone, but there was Reid Garwin - so sure of himself and so completely 'cute'. It had started as a crush. A simple infatuation with a boy around your age. She blushed whenever he talked to her, she got goosebumps whenever he touched her, and she just about screamed when he asked her to be his girlfriend.
They hugged. They kissed. They thought they loved one another. Then things began to change. Hayley's grandmother made her spend more and more time practicing her powers and the young girl was forced to tell Reid that she had 'family emergencies'. This was alright, since Reid didn't seem to be bothered by the sudden periods where the couple only saw one another at school. After a while, the two just acted as though they didn't even no each other. They both went in their seperate ways, and it wasn't until not that they were actually getting closer.
When she snapped back to the present Hayley remembered what was going on. As she was filled with happiness at the memory of she and Reid, she now felt like crying at the sight of him walking away from her. "Reid..." She muttered, wondering if he could hear her, or if he even cared.
Use it. Her mind ordered.
USE IT! Hayley's Brain USE IT!
Hayley I can't.
Hayley's Brain USE IT!
Hayley He would think I'm a freak!
Hayley's Brain Who cares?
Hayley I care.
Hayley's Brain USE IT!
Hayley NO!
Reid Garwin - May 13, 2007 08:46 PM (GMT)
Reid heard her call to him, or atleast he thought he did regardless he turned around. He didn't want to, but his body was moving before his brain could even give the order to stop. Reid didn't like the fact that he had to hide his powers from her, but the thought of him showing them to her never even crossed his mind. It was called the Covenant of silence for a reason, and Reid would never break it despite what some of his Covenant brothers thought.
It just never seemed to work out between the two of them. Back when they were dating it seemed that Hayley never had time for him, and when she did Reid had to run off to some Covenant meeting. They just grew apart and now three years later it seemed as though Hayley wanted him back, but Reid was still unsure about having a girlfriend especially with all the secerts he'd have to keep from her.
Hayley Williams - May 13, 2007 09:35 PM (GMT)
"Reid," She said again, tears forming in her eyes as he turned around to face her again. They stood there, starting at one another for a few moments before she took a step forward, wanting him to touch her, wanting him to hold her. Images of her mother flashed in her mind as she watched him look at her, it seemed as though everything she ever desired was ripped away from her and in the end she blamed herself for it. If only she could tell Reid that she was a Daughter of Salem, if only her mother hadn't died all those years ago, if only...
She could do it right now. She could tell Reid she was the descendant of the infamous Deveraux clan of witches located in Salem. She could show him her powers. She could risk losing everything she ever gained in life just by telling him her secret. But she trusted him. "Reid, can we talk?" She suggested, taking another step toward him and hoping to God that he didn't refuse.
Reid Garwin - May 15, 2007 06:48 PM (GMT)
Reid could only look at her, he wanted to say no, but the look on Hayley's face wouldn't let him. He knew that she most likely wanted to have some deep conversation. Those were the kind of talks that Reid hated the most, because he knew that as close as he wanted to get to Hayley he'd still have to lie to her.
"Ok." Reid said if there was one person that Reid wanted to let in on the Covenant secert it was Hayley, but Reid would never break their code of silence.
Hayley Williams - May 15, 2007 08:05 PM (GMT)
Hayley smiled, walked forward, grabbed Reid's hand, and pulled him into her room without letting him stop to reconsider. Even if he had said no she still would have made him. Hey, that was just who she was. Crossing her dark dormitory she sat down on her bed and folded her legs beneath her, motioning for Reid to sit beside her. She was going to tell him. She had to tell him. She wanted so much more from their relationship, and she couldn't expect him to go on with her (if they ever did go on) without knowing her biggest secret.
"Okay, Reid." She said simply, "I want to show you something." She said, eyeing him up and down and hoping to god that he didn't think she was a freak. Before he could say anything she continued speaking, "But before I show you, I want to tell you a story first." She held her breath for a moment, cleared her throat, and looked down at her bare legs. There was only one way she could tell him about herself without exposing the other daughters, and she was planning on doing it tonight.
"My great great something grandparents came to America and settled in a small town called Salem not far from here," She paused for dramatic effect before continuing slowly, "They were believed to withhold magical powers and were burned for their 'devilry,' " As Hayley said the word she made bunny quotations in the air, "Well, their descendants lived on and my grandmother brought back up the 'powers' of the Deveraux witch clan." She stopped again, looking at Reid straight in the eyes, hoping he still thought her sane. "When my mother was a little girl she learned from my grandmother, but stopped when she married my non magical father. When she gained the name Williams she through away all of her abilites in hopes of leading a semi-normal life, which my grandmother hated. When my elder sister, Hannah, was born my grandmother began teaching her but Hanny showed no signs of magic. Then when I was born, she began teaching me. I refused until my mother died and I moved to live with my grandmother when I was thirteen. That was when I learned and began practicing my powers. Until this day I've called myself a Daughter of Salem."
Hayley stopped, looking down, and then looked back up and Reid to see his expression, holding her breath to see what he said.
Reid Garwin - May 19, 2007 02:23 AM (GMT)
The drunken Reid had almost lost his balance when Hayley tugged him into her room before he could refuse. Confused Reid sat down not knowing what could be so important for him to know that couldn't wait till tomorrow when he was atleast sober.
Reid was almost speechless as he listened to Hayley speak to him. "No, way it can't be true." Reid thought to himself before deciding to play it cool and act like she was just kidding. "Heh, Hayley I think you've taken the whole pagan thing to far." Reid knew that Hayley and her friends were open pagans at school.
Reid and the boys were different they didn't let anyone think they were up to anything that was not considered normal for teenage boys to do. And it was thanks to that that Reid and the other boys were so popular.
Hayley Williams - May 20, 2007 07:18 PM (GMT)
As Reid spoke Hayley began to get frustrated, "I'm not kidding, Reid." She almost shouted, anger rising. Why wasn't he believing her? Now as she wanted him to trust her she felt more and more wary about telling him her secret. As she pondered the thought of showing him her abilities, she thought of the other daughters and was glad that she was telling Reid about herself and not exposing them. Still in the back of her mind she knew Serena would have her head if she found out Hayley had blabbed.
"Why don't you believe me? You know yourself the history of Ipswich and the other colonies. There was a covenant formed here in Ipswich and one in Salem centuries ago." It was useless and she knew it as she tried her hardest to explain this to him. All she wanted was for he to trust her enough so they could tell one another things they had once kept secret. The same secrets that had ruined them before.
Reid Garwin - May 23, 2007 01:53 PM (GMT)
"Its all just a bunch of myths Hayley come on you can't seriously think that there are people with superpowers running around Ipswich." Reid said this time trying to protect his own Covenant's secert. Hayley did seem to know what she was talking about though, but Reid was still nowhere near close enough to believeing that she was like him.
Reid and the other boys were raised believing that they were the only ones like them in the world. and the whole idea of there being more just didn't seem real to him. "The only thing my family line gave me was a history of early deaths and lots of money." Reid said attempting to lighten the mood with a joke.
Hayley Williams - May 28, 2007 06:31 PM (GMT)
Hayley got up o ff of the bed and folded her arms over her chest, looking at Reid like he was an idiot when she, herself, looked like the fool. Sighing, Hayley focused her energy upon the desk chair beside the bed, her eyes flashing black, clashing nicely with her fiery hair. With her arms outstretched she levitated the chair a foot off of the ground before lowering it, her eyes going back to their normal emerald shade. "You see?" She said, "I'm not normal."
Reid Garwin - May 28, 2007 07:53 PM (GMT)
Reid looked at her his eyes opened wide with surprise. Had he been sober he would have been smart enough to think over the situation, but instead he took her display of power as a threat to not only him, but to his whole Covenant. Although Reid would probably be the one that exposed them, he was still the first the hit something to defend them.
Reid's eyes went black as well and he shot a blast of telekentic energy at Hayley. "You've got about two seconds to tell me what the hell is going on! Who are you?" Reid said his eyes still black and his facial expersion showing pure anger. But under that Reid was scared it was the first time that he had ever been put in a situation like that.
Reid's heart was going a mile a minute and although he'd never admit it. He wished to god that Caleb was there Caleb was their leader, and if anyone knew what to do in the situation Reid was now stuck in it was Caleb.
Hayley Williams - June 2, 2007 03:49 PM (GMT)
Hayley was taken by surprise as the energy hit her square in the chest, causing her to fly backwards and hit the wall behind her. A picture of her family fell to the ground, the glass shattering, the sound mixing with her screams. Sore, she stood up, looking at Reid in utter horror. He was a descendant too? Leaning against the wall to gain balance she brushed a lock of red hair out of her eyes. "Reid, stop it." She said, "I told you, I'm a Daughter of Salem. Why are you fighting me?" She demanded, her eyes turning black as well to prepare herself in case he attacked again.
Reid Garwin - June 3, 2007 02:38 AM (GMT)
"No! it's not right we're the only ones!" Reid said thinking aloud before mentally slapping himself he had just revealed that there were more than one! Caleb had always said that he'd be the one to expose them all, and now it seemed like the boy scout was going to be right after all. "Daughter of Salem?" Where had Reid heard of that before...it was in the book! But there wasn't much said about them and the boys all wrote it off as some kind of myth.
"Bu-" Reid cut himself off when he saw Hayley's eyes go black again. Seeing it as a threat Reid used once again to lift up the bed that would've have been Hayley's roommates had she had one. "Don't try anything." Reid warned the bed floating behind him. Reid said taking a deep breath, before calming himself down enough to speak in a civilized manner. "I'm a Son of Ipswich you know that. As you can see it comes with more quirks than popularity and wealth."
Hayley Williams - June 3, 2007 07:42 PM (GMT)
Hayley looked at Reid, her eyes changing back to normal as she watched the bed levitate behind him. She wouldn't fight him. She couldn't fight him. "We?" Hayley asked, still leaning against the wall for her head began to spin not only from the contact it had come in with the plaster, but also because of the questions spinning through her mind. "I had no idea what you were, Reid. I was only telling you what I was because I trust you. Obviously that was a mistake." Her voice calmed down as she continued to look from the bed to Reid.
"I'm no threat to you," She declared, wanting him to calm down.
Reid Garwin - June 4, 2007 03:42 AM (GMT)
"What I was? I'm Reid Garwin I've always been Reid Garwin."Reid said feeling bad that Hayley would think that he was different just because he had a couple of awesome super powers. "Trust me? I couldn't have told you even if I wanted. This secert effects more than just me, as I'm sure your secert effects more than just you. What about the other daughters how do you think they'll take to you possibly exposing them." Reid said his eyes going back to normal after he returned the bed back to where it was.
Hayley Williams - June 5, 2007 11:55 PM (GMT)
Hayley's heart slowed down as Reid calmed himself. Pushing herself off of the wall she strode to where Reid was standing, her eyes full of fear and understanding. "And I'm still Hayley Williams, just with a few extra touches here and there." She said with a smirk. "And about the other daughters, yes there are more, I know now that you won't tell anyone and I won't tell anyone about you." She said, "I trust you Reid, and I hope you can trust me as well." Then she smiled playfully, "Is it Caleb, Pogue, and Tyler?" She asked suddenly. The teenager was glad to get all of this off of her chest, for now she felt more open with Reid.
Reid Garwin - June 8, 2007 12:23 AM (GMT)
This was it full on exposure this was really testing Reid's trust in Hayley. Reid was never known to be very trusting and the only person outside of the Covenant that Reid would even think about trusting with their secert is Hayley. "Yes, there the ones." Reid said with a sigh hoping that he was doing the right thing. "And who are the others in your coven?" Reid asked wanting to know if that she'd trust him.
Hayley Williams - June 13, 2007 06:22 PM (GMT)
Taking a deep breath Hayley replied, "Serena, me, Olivia, Vanessa, and Emily." She smiled weakly, "See, I do trust you, silly. Now that we have this straight, you don't tell anyone about us and we won't tell anyone about you." Hayley placed her hand on his upper arm, looking him in the eyes to tell him that she did trust him with this secret. "Now, can we please get back to before this whole thing started?" She asked, crossing the room and opening a trunk where she pulled out two drinks for the both of them. She wasn't sure what they were, for some guy had bought them for her down at the dells and she hadn't had the chance to look at them yet. Still, she opened the alchohol and handed one to Reid and then took a drink of her own, already feeling light-headed and glad to have everything off her chest.
